𖤓 Ramona Gomez is an urban ecologist and artist surviving in Berlin. Originating from Los Angeles, she earned a BA in Fine Art and Urban Studies from University of California, Los Angeles. Her process begins with the serendipity of chance discovery and allows for the ecosystem of her works to grow from this initial retrieval. Embedded in her multidisciplinary visual works are processes of reclamation, using interventionist practices of collection, performance, and exhibiting to offer alternate ways of living within the post-tech-capitalist urban ecosystem. Hunting for signs and symbols in the urban peripheries, she sifts through the debris to identify the discrepancies between cycles of old and new, death and rebirth, kitsch and class, trash and treasure, and the art of spinning a capitalist fable to believe in.
