Solidarity Minded and @erythroleukoplakia.rec are organizing a “Solidarity Residency” – an experimental weekend in the Carpathians in April for 10 musicians and other creative folks to live under one roof to create and collaborate, as well as organize future initiatives based off of our knowledge, skills, and drive to support our communities and beyond. MORE INFORMATION AND LINK TO REGISTER IN BIO! Application Deadline: 31 March

Ukrainian and English languages will both be spoken at the Solidarity Residency, it is not required to be fluent in both. Ukrainians and foreigners volunteering in Ukraine are invited to apply.
WHEN – Either the weekend of 18 April or 25 April, depending on the preference and availability of potential participants. (Or potentially even later with the right group, but depends on applicants)

Thank You Post (+ all SM merch sold out 🎉) | A series of initiatives supporting Solidarity Minded just wrapped up. The first priority is to thank you all sincerely here -- words won't succeed in conveying the positive feelings felt on Solidarity Minded's end from this. We hope that instead, the actions of our continued work which have emanated from this gratitude will be something which you all will also be able to see and to feel.. To resonate with or connect with in some way, in the sense that whatever good comes out of what we do is in part yours too. That there's a part of you here whether you're 10 kilometers away or 10,000.
This isn't just for the people from this weekend but for everyone who has been along for the ride and who has supported this project. Who has kept it from falling through the cracks and made sure it had a pulse. But this weekend was special, it felt like new life breathing from this project's lungs.
@la_dispute - Thank you to the whole band and for continuing to genuinely support grassroots projects for years. To Kirk for being the catalyst to this entire essay without probably ever intending to be. To @coreface especially and Jordan for the warm company, and hearing and sharing important parts of life and life yet to come.
@paseka_lmtd & @karma7warsaw You all agreed to the idea of a Friday night lecture in a bar in Warszawa city centre on trauma and PTSD, and will always love the hell out of that. The night was excellent, as was your team, @septem_of_swords and your whole community alike that you've created. I hope we meet again.
@aezron_20h20b (and of course @thfradio and @hightempo_berlin ) - You are a comrade through and through. If the world had your heart and steadfast spirit, we would be looking at a different planet. (To every artist, thank you! IG is limiting this text)
And last but definitely not least, @w_w.red -- For fixing backpacks, assembling zines, making sure the printing group doesn't murder me in broad daylight, and for being a wonderful friend
Many of you have said that it was no problem or simple to do a lot of this but most of our lives are ordinary actions. All the more reason to thank you
Solidarity Minded is far beyond excited and grateful to join @la_dispute at their sold out concert at Proxima in Warszawa. We will have an information table with merch available on a donation basis, sticker printing, stamps, future volunteering opportunities, and 'tiny lectures on an endless timeline' around the event.
Solidarity Minded is a mutual aid project providing free psychological support (psychotherapy sessions & consultations), free education (informal and university level instruction), and free creative workshops in crisis-hit areas. We've worked in Lebanon, Kurdistan (Iraq), and in Ukraine-- where we currently find ourselves based in the city of Kharkiv.
We are a DIY initiative and funded completely independently by comrades and events like this one (albeit usually much smaller ones). If you would like to support us, join us, or communicate with us, please contact us here or at: [email protected]
Solidarity Minded is a mental health project, but is in no way a neutral collective. We are unconditionally against racism, xenophobia, imperialism, queerphobia, colonialism, and all forms of dehumanization.

Autumn/Winter 2025 | An active and constant process of stimulating and liberating our minds. Sometimes one at a time, sometimes at the same time, sometimes neither but always together in solidarity.
A counselling skills training programme began with Karazin/Kharkiv National University students to intensively prepare them for the future here and psychologically working face-to-face with folks in need. We also continued down our path of experimental electronic music sessions & therapy, in and outside the hospital, and hope to expand this a lot next year. A chunk of this time was spent at Vasyl Stefanyk University giving lectures to future musical teachers and practitioners different perspectives of ways music can be utilized and why it is so important for our minds.
A goal was to be more creative this year -- be on the look out for music, zines, short films, and more, from us soon from our work with youth!
A highlight was certainly a youth exchange SM helped run which was kicked off by a unanimous decision from our students to go to Praha -- SM organized a day experiencing the world of David Lynch, his art, and the mentality and spirit that created work that is beautiful, terrifying, surreal, and complex. We gathered inspiration, art, and fire for the Verses + Vision youth exchange that we were a part of which provided Ukrainian students with over a week of a immersing themselves into a miniature creative society. Somewhere on the journey, we recorded a miniature poetry album in both English and Ukrainian in a train cabin too
We also went back to the roots with therapy sessions, reconstruction work, language workshops, group mental health support, and more.
2025 was absolutely phenomenal, but it ends in a point of transition. The Solidarity Minded Mutual-Aid initiative will look and function differently in 2026, but also, we hope that you all will be able to be more a part of it and we expand the spirit of recovery, resistance, resilience and renaissance (clutching at straws for a creative word beginning with the letter "r") further than it has gone before. Thanks for coming along for the ride this year
Summer 2025 | We launched ourselves headfirst into a blistering summer of creativity. Intensively hammered home ideas of how to utilize artistic practices to work with trauma and psychological distress. More challenging, fun, and engaging lectures that we will attempt to not exhaust people to hallucinations or death with. More music therapy, more psychotherapy, and pt.2 of Zgraya with some of the most fantastic humans that are currently walking this planet. We made the best version possible of this reality together for two weeks at this wonderful camp while getting to really be the best and most free versions of ourselves. We ended this camp having made an absolute banger of a zine and an absolute banger of short film that we will be excited to share with you all in the near future
Spring/Summer '25 | Began lecturing at two universities in Ukraine (Kharkiv National University and Dnipro National University) on a variety of subjects in psychotherapy&psychology to two fantastic groups of students with some of the only in-person seminars happening. Rojava University professors and masters students also received classes remotely on English and writing for the last 6 months
SM also continued developing its own electronic musicmaking therapy at Hospital 16 in Kharkiv alongside Yulia, the rector of Kharkiv Arts University. The future for this is proving to be quite interesting and has yielded very positive results in somewhat challenging settings!
On top of this workshops and lectures in Zaporizhzhia, Kushuhum, and other places with focuses on understanding the psychology of imperialism, theatre games, and English
Oh! And free therapy sessions are going strong too
Late-Winter/Early-Spring 2025 - A lot of therapy, a lot of teaching, a lot of new friends, a lot of old friends, a lot of attempts at trying to create new ways of existing with mental health at the forefront in a variety of ways individually and collectively, a lot of demonstrations, a lot of rabies shots (again), a lot of forgetting to post things about the project on instagram (again), a lot more on the horizon (again, yay)
Autumn '24 | Returned to Lebanon during the war. Provided mental health support (education, training, consultations, etc), worked with youth displaced by the 1DF, spent most every night in different community kitchens in Beirut preparing food for folks in shelters, and other distribution work. No long post here, death to colonialism.
Personal post: Today I ran my first marathon, something I've wanted to do for my entire life and can cross off the bucket list. Being able to call myself a marathon runner now is an amazing feeling, even better when the race was also raising money for this country's resistance against fascist invaders
The day got off to a whirlwind start when I nearly missed the beginning last minute because I confused some words in Ukrainian, mixing up the start time. As a result, I ran the entire 44k (for whatever reason the Kyiv marathon is an extra 2k) holding a container of hummus with bread pushed down inside of it so I always had food with me. There were a whole host of characters along the way, some spectators and folks dancing in the street motivating us with some real methhead energy, there was a knee that gave out for for the final 15+ kilometers for a challenging finish. All in all, a day I'll remember for my whole life
Summer '24 | Chernihiv, Donetsk, Kyiv, and Chernivtsi regions of Ukraine. Therapy, teaching, rebuilding, summer camps, and a thousand other things we won't be able to fit in here.
