I’m feeling in my feels about playing inside the club @renate.berlin tomorrow night for the first time.
Thanks to @djteeth and @tpr.dj giving me my first exposure to the behind the scenes. Renate was the place I learned what really goes into making a great club night happen. Forever grateful to both for opening those doors to me 💌
All that led me through a winding path to be invited to play there by my dear friend and @starseedsberlin collaborator @djchi.chi , who is relentless and inspiring as an artist and connector in the scene. ✨
This gig just happens to intersect with major life changing stuff happening all around me. The highs and the lows. The stuff that really matters in the long run. The ingredients for making art that is true to yourself.
Pouring my heart into digging for music to share it with people is a magical and cathartic experience. I’m grateful for every opportunity I get to do it.
Immortalizing this gig with a post for the grid because it’s a special one for me. 💗

I took inspiration from the energy of the year of the Fire Horse and a visit to Ariège caves. I learned that the paintings were left in a perfect place for sound in a round room carved by a glacier where people may have gathered to dance. Their firelight made the paintings appear to move.
I love radio (and especially Cashmere) for its canvas to explore and experiment with all forms of music, unconstrained by whether it would keep the tempo of a dancefloor.
But this mix was pure dance energy. Playing some bangers I'm been gathering over the last year in anticipation of a return to play in the club after a year of inner focus and growth.
Next week 4/17 I will be playing in the Red Room @renate.berlin - debuting in a booth in a club where I got foundational education while doing the lights and providing artist care.
As a year of the horse baby traveling my own path in these crazy times, I'm feeling grateful for the evolution of experiences that brought me here and now.

I see we're back in our 2016 camera rolls. Y'all being cute so here's mine.
2016 was a special year. In March, I moved to London. This year marks a decade since I moved away from the United States.
In 2016, I was taking every opportunity to travel that I could. NYC before I moved and again for work. Barcelona. Almaty, Kazakhstan. Hong Kong. Yangshuo, China.
I went to Primavera Sound and saw some artists that were hugely influential to my tastes since then.
I went to every modern art gallery that I could. I read a lot of radical books. I went to so many indie gigs around London. It was the first time I downloaded dating apps (meeting girls AND boys ;) and moved into my own place.
In a lot of ways it was the beginning of everything I've created in my life since then. So many happy memories with friends along the way. Happy I found my way to here.

I’ve enjoyed making a few mixes where the recording coincides with some astrological event. It puts me in the flow to record a single take during the moment it occurs, since you only get one shot at it.
I had the idea this week to select music that gives off the energy of 3I/Atlas during its solar conjunction. A 7.5billion year old comet traveling 38km/second past our sun on a perfect alignment path to visit our planets on the plane they orbit.
Quite a few of the mixes I’ve shared have some connection to either an astrological event (like an eclipse) or the changing seasons. This play between the cosmic unknown and nature on earth connects me most intuitively to sound in a way that feels raw and real. When I’m tuning to these ideas, the music flows naturally like water through a river or light through space. Aka the stuff we are made of.
This is my fourth show on Cashmere which branches off those themes, though each have been weird and experimental in their own ways. I love playing with the structure and storytelling of music on radio. Thanks @cashmere_radio and listeners!
This particular mix highlights the futurist optimism of New Age influence on ambient techno, trance, and downtempo in the 90s.
Enjoy ✌️
🎞 One year ago @aurefro & I traveled to the Pacific Northwest and took our film camera with us.
There are a few preciously wild places left in the world. Exploring them is the thrill of a lifetime.
The cascades are reminiscent of the Alps, which I've grown steadily more familiar with over the last seven years of trips to visit in-laws in Switzerland. But in the PNW they are a bit more wild and untouched.
Our favorite part of the trip was visiting Telegraph Cove on the northern side of Vancouver Island, where we sea kayaked to an overnight campsite on the Johnstone Strait. It's a protected inland strait connecting the Pacific Ocean to the bay next to Vancovver. The whole ecosystem on land and in the water is supported by the nutrient rich dregs of the deep ocean that come in with the tides.
It was magical to witness the interconnectedness of all living things. So visible there. One sunrise morning from our campsite on the water, we watched Orcas commuting across the strait, the water from their spouts glistening in the golden light. We kayaked next to a breaching Humpback and some sea lions play wrestling. There were living things crawling, swimming, and flying all around us.
Later on the trip we hiked and stayed overnight at Shi-shi Beach on Makah lands. Pacific coasts have an awe-inspiring atmosphere and intensity. I always miss that feeling standing on those shores until I inevitably return.
The last few photos were from our trip to Colorado, where I was born. I like going back there every so often after we moved away when I turned 11. It's like a time capsule that looks different as I grow.
Next week we will trekking two weeks in the French Pyrenees and we are bringing some more film. I love how analog photos challenge how we perceive time in our throwaway endless scrolling culture.
I'm looking forward to the time away from screens. Being present in the moment. Seeing things clearly. Taking it all in.
✌️ been off of this app backpacking on some PNW beaches
Hopping back on to say happy Bi Visibility Day to all the chaotic bi babes out there 😘

🎞️ Solstice Festival ☀️
This summer @aurefro and I returned to Ruka 🇫🇮 to stay in a sauna-equipped cabin with dear friends and dance under the midnight sun @solstice.festival , an independent festival reviving pagan roots of midsummer celebration. Here’s a selection of the film we took under the many shades of sunlight throughout the nights.
Already pinged by nostalgia for the summer — one more week home in Berlin before heading to visit my mom in the Pacific Northwest and trek around some national parks for the first few weeks of September.
⛰️🏕️🐋
Walking below the ♾️☀️ for the countdown to midsummer. 🌳🐻🦌🪵🏕️🇫🇮
Not pictured: endless mosquito admirers following us everywhere. Little companions like barking dogs to accompany the walking meditation. 🦟🧘♂️🧘♀️🦟

Spring was truly in the air on Friday night at our Spring Edition of @starseedsberlin .
Our hearts are so full, it really meant the world to us. We want to thank BBY G, Cashper, Fhionn, Miran N, and Moretz — a group of kind-hearted sweeties who absolutely made the night. The visionary flowers arranged by Sleeptwitch were instrumental to communicate our intention to curate a soft, kind, and inclusive dancefloor. Playing b2b into the sunrise to a committed group of closers felt like a waking dream. Getting to see so many of you again on the dancefloor in the same weekend at Fandango made it one of our most joyous weekends in memory.
We have some big announcements to make soon, mark your calendars for May 5th. 💖💜💙
With love,
Chichi & Jordi
