Fish Fragrant Aubergine é±¼é¦čå
A classic Sichuan dish thatās punchy in flavour and amazing with rice!
Sambal Stir Fried Vegetables
My take on a Malaysian classic using cabbage, asparagus and carrots with spicy chilli and shrimp paste.
Both great rice guzzling dishes! So glad to be home cooking again š
So glad to have a day off to cook some nourishing tasty food! Itās been a crazy busy week of work where meals have been about convenience.
Airfried chicken legs served with my take on Jollof Rice using my home grown and fermented tomatoes from my garden!
Iām shocked Iāve never made this even though Iām aware of the dish. Beef Keema, a gorgeously spiced minced meat dish that rich and flavoursome. Wonderful with basmati rice or Naans.
This was so simple to make and the results were absolutely gorgeous! Definitely a must-make again in my opinion!
Whatās nicer than a salad on a hot day? My korean-inspired Cold Spicy Kimchi Noodles with Vegetables & Griddled Pork Belly.
Tangy, spicy, sweet, sour and savoury, this is probably my favourite and only way Iāll eat lots of raw veg!
Finally a day off where I get to cook something tasty for dinner!
Chilli and Sesame Paste Knife Cut Noodles with pickled mustard with crispy Pork Cutlet.
So easy, fast and really tasty! Have a good evening everyone.
After 3 weeks of being in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, Iāve eaten endless dishes to make up for not being able to visit for almost 2 1/2 years.
Now back in London I decided to try making this simple but incredibly flavoursome dish, Daging Masak Kicap, Soy Sauce Beef.
I made mine using thick slices of flank cut across the grain for a nicer tender bite and slow cooked it in lemongrass, spices, spice & chilli paste & sweet soy sauce.
Utterly delicious eaten with hot rice and sliced cucumber. Definitely worth making lots as flavours get better the next day or two.
A meal so good I just had to post about it! Iāve been making quick meals of late but today with a day off I decided to have a go at this, Hot Chicken Tenders, all dressed with a garlic butter, honey and hot sauce!
Marinade in buttermilk, hot sauce and a mix of spices, the chicken had a crunchy coating but was tender and bursting with flavour!
I also made a tangy salad of shaved orange, yellow & purple carrots dressed with a tangy Thai dressing.
This is about as perfect a meal as can get!
Fried Radish Cake (č夓ē³), a dish commonly found in the street food stalls in Malaysia and Singapore.
Radish with rice flour, dried shrimp, shitake and Chinese sausage, steamed and then pan fried with egg, dark soy, preserved radish and chives.
I was motivated to make this while chatting to my sister and itās so worth it! I doubt this is available in London so the only way as ever is to make it myself!
Iām back! Itās been a bit of a crazy time so Iāve really neglected my food account.
But hereās a good one to welcome everyone back!
Slow-braised pork belly & Tofu knots in Chee Hou Sauce.
A savoury fermented bean paste, I only found out about Chee Hou paste recently and itās incredible in slow cooked dishes with meat.
A real rice guzzler dish to soak up all the delicious gravy with the tender pork belly.
Another dish attempted and pretty successful! After watching Lingās Cooking Escapade on YouTube, I thought I could tackle Char Siew Bao, this dim sum stalwart!
Pillow-soft, tender & oh so flavoursome, I am so glad these came out beautifully!
Iāve always wanted to make these. Thai Pandan Wrapped Chicken. Juicy and flavoursome pieces of chicken spiced and magically cradled inside a pandan leaf origami parcel.
I got this recipe from a lady in a Facebook group who shared her method of cooking it without deep frying. Perfection!
