@newinstance.xyz patrick scott 30W x 30D x 100H, 150H, 220Hmm (36no.) ‘stadt’ sand cast aluminium, rumble finish, natural patina Locally forged in NSW, the presented work continues my exploration of raw textures and architectural forms, drawing references from one of Adelaide’s most debated public spaces. Conceived as an arrangement of individual vessels the work blurs the line between object and sculpture. part of @every_where_adl for adelaide design week images by @dimiitra_

@martinabeka_ martina beka ‘hold’ aluminium sheet 900W x 900D mm The proposed work will consist of an aluminium sheet where soft indentations will be created overtime on the surface of the material. Softness through materiality will be established by practicing slow, gentle and soft marks and dents on the surface of the material. This work will introduce a new aluminium sheet, referencing personal experiences and interactions in real time, reflected onto the material. The already soft nature of the aluminium sheet will lend itself to further consideration in the method of making, where marks and dents will be made by pushing sentimental objects, body parts and natural materials, such as sand, into the metal sheet. This work suggests the build of subtle moments creating impact as well as both literal and metaphoric demonstrations of soft surfaces handling various weights. The subtle methods of marking the material will also act as a reference to the soft treatment of self, embodying acts of softness where previous works speak to rough processes of making. part of @every_where_adl for adelaide design week images by @dimiitra_

@indigo.tolhurst indigo tolhurst ‘moment lamp’ aluminium, handmade paper 350 W x 100 D x 440 H Aluminium, handmade paper, lighting components A floor or desk lamp made from aluminium and handmade paper. The piece highlights pockets of light from within, reflecting the slivers of light the buildings built for us let in. Designed to reflect the balance between industrial and natural, the metal frames traces of eucalyptus, sun printed on handmade paper - the raw natural landscape of South Australia. Contrasting newly built city structures, with what has always been here. part of @every_where_adl for adelaide design week images by @dimiitra_

@sedni.studio daniel stavridis ‘atu’ desk lamp 1/1 stainless steel with patina Atu has an asymmetric rail which sits atop each piece and flows into one another, nothing to define the start nor the end. Interwoven into the rail is a chain mesh lamp shade, which drapes unrestricted down the length of the diffuser. The light direction is cast upwards and outwards, creating a gradient light within the diffuser and off the chain. Taking ques from motorcycle design, the range incorporates the flow of movement and a sense of direction that is distinctive to the visual language of motorcycles. Finishes and materials can be uniform or mixed, adding to the level of customisation and personalisation. part of @every_where_adl for adelaide design week images by @dimiitra_

@clairmar claire markwick-smith 400W x 400D x 650Hmm ‘side table’ (in black and white) polished aluminium, powder coated aluminium, stainless steel fixings Using offcuts from a South Australian automotive industry supplier, I have created a table which plays on form and finish. Using car finishing techniques to further explore the origin of these materials, I’ve polished some parts, and powder coated others. This work examines reflection within composition, and its transformative values. part of @every_where_adl for adelaide design week images by @dimiitra_

@chongoffice casey chong ‘flower-drenched vessels’ #0  porcelain A sequel of her ‘Tea-Drenched Vessels’ series, is a set of 3 skinny tubular vases made of ceramics, allowing you to embrace and enjoy any spontaneous discovery in your garden or on your daily walk. Handcrafted in three individual pieces of distinctive yet compatible forms, you can curate a sensual floral arrangement with a minimal compilation, like Ikebana, finding your peace and balance through appreciating the void and asymmetry. Originally crafted with resin with her earlier series, Chong is now exploring how ceramics as a medium can capture the creation process. The clay essence, glaze textures and tactile touch from handbuilding process of the ‘tubes’ are all subtly encapsulated in the vessels. part of @every_where_adl for adelaide design week images by @dimiitra_
