Maura was captivated by Nancyâs appearance on Baking with Julia, where her brioche tart famously brought Julia Child to tears. In this class, Maura will demonstrate a selection of Nancy-inspired favorites, including the iconic brioche tart, cornbread with honey butter, and summer camp coffee cake. Join us this Friday 4/17 at Sofra Allston from 11a-2p for a pop up with our friends from @Row7Seeds ! Row 7 works with chefs, farmers, plant breeders, and plant eaters to create bold new varieties of vegetables with flavor at the forefront.
They just released a beautiful new line of tinned vegetables that are already loved by our chefs. To celebrate, weâll be running a special hummus on the menu featuring their tinned Sweet Garleek (a garlic-leek hybrid cooked confit-style in a sweet-savory vinaigrette) and Sweet Prince Tomatoes (peak-summer perfection, with the depth of slow-roasted tomatoes).

Simit is one of our signature breakfast breads and a beloved Turkish street foodâsimilar to a bagel, but thinner with a larger hole. At Sofra, making simit is a team effortâwe gather around the table to shape, twist, and chat. Weâre excited to invite you into the kitchen to join Chef Maura as she guides you through the full process: mixing and shaping the dough, proofing, and baking both classic simit and a delicious stuffed version with goat cheese and asparagus.
