Μούγγι στα ναουσαίικα σημαίνει "μόνο" (only), η Ηχώ του Βερμίου κυκλοφόρησε το '43-'44 και εγώ μάζεψα μερικές ιστορίες του βουνού σε αυτό το podcast που θα είναι μέχρι αύριο στο @filmfestivalgr . Έκανα επίσης τη μίξη με το αρχείο του @luscoefusco12 από το camp της Ριτσώνας, που αφηγείται μαζί του ιστορίες αναμονής. Και τα δύο podcast κάπως έχουν να κάνουν με τον πόλεμο, που τώρα είναι τελείως κοντινός και νέα camps και data centers χτίζονται και σχεδιάζονται στην μεσογειακή παραμεθόριο. Almost a year ago, I accidentally built a large antenna, as an experiment on Sarakatsani yurt architectures and modalities in the listening, oscillating space. Kindly hosted by @asso_apo33 , I repurposed power cables and imagined a space for dwelling or listening, weaving together maqam-esque drones and electromagnetic recordings, among others. What moved me in the first place about these ephemeral installations is that the Sarakatsani, a nomadic Balkan tribe that would seasonally migrate from mountain to plane, carried all construction materials with them, twigs and reeds, plane to mountain to otherness. In the same spirit, I now carry the recordings from this antenna, and they sometimes find their way in my sets, as is or braided in new formations and instances.

This week Friday, we are happy to host @kasedjin workshop of feminist perspectives on Kurdish oral literature. Cembelî and Binevşa Narin is one of the significant epics transmitted across generations within the dengbêj tradition of Kurdish oral literature. Rooted in the geography of Hakkari, this narrative is not merely a love story; it is also a political text in which power relations, social boundaries, and the regulation of the female body are rendered visible. Read through a feminist lens, the story of Binevşa Narin exposes the patriarchal order through forced marriage, the control of the body, and the transfer of decision-making power over women’s lives to male-dominated structures. Her frequently silenced voice offers a powerful entry point for questioning how women are represented within Kurdish narrative traditions. Moving through layered water ecosystems and adjacent worlds, the work weaves echoes from earlier projects, Black Atlantis: The End of Eating Everything and Brown Atlantis Radio, continuing a long-term engagement with the Atlantic and Indian oceans, as well as the imagined Kumari Kandam, a lost Tamil continent, an Atlantis before Atlantis. The piece brings together a constellation of voices and sonic fragments, including Bi Kidude, Rabindranath Tagore, pearl divers from the Arabian Peninsula, alongside Rachel Baker, Lizzie Homersham, Bijan Moosavi, Christian Nyampeta, and Theodor Ringborg. “The waves that rush over the stumps are thick like wet concrete. Sofia Zafeiriou + Clip by Yoshiya Yoshimitsu 📅 Παρασκευή 20 Φεβρουαρίου 🕘 21:00 〄 To Ov Off Studio φιλοξενεί τον @felixfloriantodtloff ο οποίος θα παρουσιάσει ένα live set ambient και drone μουσικής που εξελίσσεται ανάμεσα στη σύνθεση και τον αυτοσχεδιασμό. Χρησιμοποιεί ηλεκτρική κιθάρα, σύνθεση (synthesis), διάφορα αντικείμενα καθώς και field recordings για να χτίσει αργά κινούμενα ηχητικά κολάζ, όπου οι παρατεταμένοι τόνοι, η υφή και ο συντονισμός έχουν προτεραιότητα έναντι της μελωδίας ή του ρυθμού. Η μουσική του κινείται ανάμεσα σε εύθραυστες λεπτομέρειες και πυκνά αρμονικά στρώματα, προσκαλώντας σε μια βαθιά ακρόαση και μια αυξημένη επίγνωση του χρόνου, του χώρου και των ανεπαίσθητων αλλαγών. Ο αυτοσχεδιασμός τους βασίζεται σε ένα απόσπασμα του έργου Clip του Yoshimitsu, το οποίο παρουσιάστηκε για πρώτη φορά στην Κίνα. Το Clip συνδυάζει την περφόρμανς και το κουκλοθέατρο, επανερμηνεύοντας το ιστορικό έργο Cut Piece της Yoko Ono μέσα από τη φιγούρα του Haruto, μιας κούκλας που παρουσιάζεται ως νεαρός καλλιτέχνης εκτεθειμένος στη δράση του κοινού. Μέσα από αυτή τη συμμετοχική διαδικασία, το έργο διερευνά ζητήματα ευαλωτότητας, συγγραφικότητας και συλλογικής ευθύνης.

🌼 Collective chavits cooking with Sofoula and Parthena, was an evening of refugee stories from third generation Pontic women, shared while giving directions for the live cooking of a simple Pontic dish, chavits. 🪄Thank you KILIM Hub for for giving me the opportunity to bring my mum and aunt to a creative process, tackling on our Pontic heritage. She lives in Australia, in the Inner West region of Sydney, traditional home to the Aboriginal groups Gadigal and Wangal. It is characterized by a minimal sonic palette, delicately balancing textures that are both rich and simple. She has collaborated with filmmakers, visual artists and choreographers to create music for film, dance, video and performance art. She has released the albums: “Furtive Glances” (Room40), “Digital Auras” (Longform Editions) and “If You Do” (Room40). She has presented her work in Australia, Asia, Europe and North America.
