The Guide Scholarship is back for its second year, and we’re proud to support the next generation of ski guides!
This unique scholarship provides essential gear, financial aid, and mentorship to help someone pursue their dream career as a ski guide.
Our team athlete and ACMG ski guide, @sofiaforsmans , saw a gap in the industry and the need for comprehensive support. Together, we identified three critical pillars—gear, funding, and mentorship—that helped Sofia stay motivated and achieve her certification.
Thanks to gear from @stellarequipment , @pocsports , skis from @rmuoutdoors , and mentorship and financial support from Sofia. There’s no other opportunity like this out there!
We’re looking for the next dedicated individual who wants to pursue a career as a ski guide but who may be facing financial barriers. Applications are open now through January 1st—find the link in our bio.

Back for the fourth year running but this time we’ve left the Sea to Sky and are hosting it at @cyclelogicrevelstoke in Revelstoke!
I created the Backcountry Enabler Series in 2020 as a way to make backcountry education more accessible and affordable. The purpose of the series was to “engage, educate and inspire” others to practice safe backcountry habits.
The Guide Scholarship was created in 2023 as an extension to help support an individual who, just like me, has big dreams to become a guide but faces financial and practical hurdles. Education is expensive but shouldn’t be a barrier of entry into the profession of ski guiding.
We at @pocsports , @stellarequipment Stellar, @rmu.mtn.co and @sofiaforsmans are incredibly thankful for community and want to help keep you educated and safe this winter!
Tickets are limited already half sold out. All ticket proceeds goes to funding the Guide Scholarship, so your participation, helps someone fund their guiding courses. We think that’s pretty neat.

The road to become an @acmg.ca certified ski & hiking guide, was more of a decommissioned forest road, than a highway” says @sofiaforsmans ”Numerous difficult spots, and roadblocks, which led me to question my decisions… and I almost didn’t make it! BUT the lure of what could be at the end of the road was too strong”
.
Often the only female guide at work, frequently the youngest & definitelythe only one with an accent, Sofia was part of the first ever, fully female class of guides graduating in 2021.
” It took time for me to find my place, now years later, being able to support other women wanting to persuade guiding feels incredible”. Sofia runs a ski guide scholarship program, and an avalanche awareness course, ’TheEnabler series, giving back to the community that has given her so much.
.
Sofia is an ambassador with ACMG pro partner @roirecreation “When people rely on me to keep them safe, it’s important that I can rely on my gear. Sofia has used the premium brands Recreation Outfitters represent for the last decade, to keep her and her guests comfortable & safe. Apply now to their pro program through the ACMG portal.

The shortest but oh so sweet trip home. Watching a so familiar world in bloom, the smell of nettles and choke cherries, watching the sun set on the balcony and having morning coffees on the front door step in a spot that still has my heart.
This house, these people. A goodbye to our family home and a hello to new additions to our family. The bittersweet, the melancholy and a world that’s exploding in colours and smells. Natures promise of new beginnings.
Roots that run deep. The ease and the hardships all wrapped up in a big bundle of familiar feelings.
Leaving one home and returning to another, a split heart between two places but a cup that’s full.
The last week’s mood board from the whiplash weather delivered by Northern Norway.
Where ocean meets mountains and the only thing predicable is unpredictability.

Week two in Norway at @seilandhouse and the high pressure continued. Filling up the memory bank quickly.
Half way done a month with @sawbackalpine in Northern Norway 🇳🇴
Downtime between work in Northern Norway 🇳🇴
A quick pause to take it all in. By the seaside, in the sun, walking the coastlines looking for ocean treasures, the quiet and houses in a harsh environment, a Swedish crime novel set in this exact environment.
This life.
If you were to romanticize ski touring in Northern Norway it’d be the week we just had. Only one week in to a monthlong trip of guiding for @sawbackalpine here and rapidly ticking off the wish list.
Working with long lost experienced friends, the weather, the ski conditions, the boat + crew, the guests- we had it all!
Feeling so nostalgic mixed with so thankful to finally make it up here. Making both my worlds come together.
Is this the trip where I decide to move to Norway? 🇳🇴
Moments from last April, guiding the bow Yoho Traverse back to back to back and the first time working for @sawbackalpine .
Just landed in Norway and for a month of guiding in Northern Norway, an opportunity I’ve longed for. Can’t wait to show you all how this April unfolds.

A quick little recap of a trip that felt like it happened yesterday but is a month ago. Life in the fast lane is a blur but these are the moments I hold onto.
Packing for the following several months in advance is a life saviour for when the brain hits delete in the midst of changing gears.
Thank you 🤍 @rux.life@stellarequipment@rmu.mtn.co
Organization, durability and practicality taken care of.
So that I can spend a maximized amount of energy on what matters - guiding.
Living a life out of bags packed weeks in advanced to make transfers between work places easy. Bags thrown into a dirty truck, left in the mud and wet from snow. A seamless system where every piece of gear has its place, protected and waterproof for the circle of rinse and repeat.
That’s why I choose RUX.
March was a month of mixed emotions.
Brain power on max, tired body, some hard events for our little community.
That mixed with a week of skiing with my longest standing mentor @jasmincaton , back in my happy place with the best guest/friends a girl/guide could wish for. A quick hit of endorphins with my love, sunshine 🌞, and some sweet tasting lemonade made out of sub par situations with amazing colleagues.
Spring almost sprang and it was both welcomed and observed under high stress.
