2020 is the year of Sochi.We have a ton of things in the works, both product and brand wise. We’ll be continuously rebranding as the year goes on, and we’re also going to be collaborating with not just other brands, but more of the community as well.The first of these community collaborations is with one of our favorite yoyo artists, @inhychoi, and he created this insanely cool illustration of the team!

WYYC 2024 items -We are taking a more relaxed approach with the Sochi booth this year, but that doesn’t mean we won’t have some new products, good deals, and lots of gear. Huge congrats to our team! Kohei defended his title with 98 points and Koyo got his first national title.Ryuichi showed more high risk moves and took fourth place.Akitoshi changed his style of play and took eighth place in the most competitive national contest. Nylon-only. Our first string positioned for casual, fun play. Ever since the start of Sochi, people have been asking us if we would release a nylon-only string, and we’ve finally finished testing. Inherently, making a 100% nylon string in bulk is very difficult, especially with the instability of the material. However, after a year of testing, we’re able to release this string with confidence. Silky, bouncy, so so whippy, and just fun.First release at the Japan Nationals @rewindyoyo booth in Yokohama, Japan this weekend!#sochicompany#sochi

It’s the end of 5A May and what better way to close out the month than with the release of three new counterweights?This collaborative release between Sochi and Caribou Lodge includes three weights tailored towards different styles of counterweight play: Aerial for big releases, Rebound for tight body moves, and Hyperweight for a little bit of everything. Developed with input from 5A creator and National YoYo Master Steve Brown, these machined delrin weights use a bead assembly to help maintain string tension and each come packaged with Sochi’s newly developed 5A string that’s only 100 cm long and has a bead pre-attached to make it easier to change strings quickly. Included with each weight are two rubber -o-rings; each ring adds 0.5 grams, allowing the player to customize the weight to their preference.Whether you‘re a top competitor or a casual beginner, we hope these counterweights can be part of your journey to be the best yoyo player you can be.#5amay#clyw#sochi
