The Indigenous Song Camp presented by Amazon Music returns to Kilometre House in Toronto from July 27-31, 2026! Created in collaboration with Amazon Music, SOCAN Foundation, and the sākihiwē festival, this immersive camp welcomes SOCAN members who identify as Indigenous or non-Indigenous music creators and producers. Participants will have the chance to explore new writing styles, build meaningful connections, and collaborate in a supportive and inspiring environment. Applications are open for Equity X Production Level 1 - and English session dates are now confirmed. Join us for twice-weekly sessions from May 19 to June 28, running Tuesdays and Sundays from 8–9:30 PM. This program introduces the basics of music production using Logic Pro, guiding participants through each stage of the creative process - from MIDI fundamentals, audio essentials, and recording techniques to production analysis and a final showcase. Participants will also receive personalized production feedback and mentorship throughout. French-language sessions will take place May 19, 21, 26, and 28 (6–9 PM), with additional sessions on June 1 (6–8 PM), and an in-person creative residency in Montréal on June 4–5 (9 AM–4 PM). Application deadline extended to April 30, 2026. —— Les candidatures sont ouvertes pour le programme Équité X Production Niveau 1, et les dates des séances en anglais sont maintenant confirmées. Soyez des nôtres les mardis et dimanches de 20 h à 21 h 30, du 19 mai au 28 juin. Ce programme propose une introduction aux bases de la production musicale avec Logic Pro en accompagnant les participants à chaque étape du processus créatif : fondements du MIDI, notions essentielles en audio, techniques d’enregistrement, analyse de production et présentation finale. Les participantes et participants recevront également des commentaires personnalisés sur leurs productions ainsi qu’un mentorat tout au long du programme. Les séances en français auront lieu les 19, 21, 26 et 28 mai (de 18 h à 21 h), avec une séance supplémentaire le 1er juin (de 18 h à 20 h), ainsi qu’une résidence de création en personne à Montréal les 4 et 5 juin (de 9 h à 16 h). La Fondation SOCAN est fière de lancer la Bourse pour les créateur·rice·s de musique! Cette nouvelle initiative soutient la relève de la création musicale canadienne qui poursuit des études postsecondaires en production musicale, en composition et en écriture de chansons. The Canadian New Music Workshop is back, happening Monday, November 16, 2026! Hosted by The Glenn Gould School New Music Ensemble at The Royal Conservatory of Music, this program offers three composers the opportunity to develop new work with a 15‑player chamber ensemble, receive expert feedback, and obtain professional recordings of their compositions. Travel and accommodation are covered, along with a $500 honorarium.
