Brett Wilson as the co-recipients of the 2026 Gary Slaight Humanitarian Award. Now in its 15th year of support from Slaight Music and The Slaight Family Foundation, the annual Gary Slaight Humanitarian Award recognizes an individual(s) and/or event(s) that have made an outstanding contribution of time and energy in the support of humanitarian causes through country music. Meet our latest CCMA Member Spotlight feature: @thelisadodd , 2025 CCMA Bass Player of the Year & Musician Hall of Honour Inductee ⭐️ ABOUT LISA DODD: Born in Montreal in 1969 and raised in Alberta, Lisa graduated from Foothills Composite in 1987 with a focus on music. Since joining her father’s band at 16, she has proudly earned her living as a full-time musician.  She formed her own band in 1993 and toured North America for a decade. Following a brief hiatus in 2004, she returned to performing locally before joining the Gord Bamford band in 2012, touring across Canada and internationally. A celebrated bassist and vocalist, Lisa continues to front her own shows and perform and record with other artists. She is the first woman to win the CCMA Bass Player award, the first female bassist inducted into the CCMA Musician Hall of Honour and a trailblazer for women in Canadian music.
