Community changed my life. 10 years ago I said “yes” to the prompt inside of me to bring people together from online interactions to face to face experiences to connect and create together.
I almost cancelled the launch because I was so afraid of failure. However after 10 years of building and bringing people together, I’m so glad I said “yes” on Jan 19 2014 to launching @socality .
Everything you do will have risks but also have rewards. For me, the greatest reward is seeing people come into community. Say “yes “to that thing inside your heart. It could be the beginning of a whole new chapter for you! Also, so glad we all fit on this bridge!! 🇨🇦❤️

How are you adding whimsy to your life? 👀
It doesn’t have to be big. Sprinkles on your morning coffee, a detour on your usual walk, a photo of something nobody asked for. But it could also be that creative idea that’s been living rent free in your head for a while. The one that felt too silly, too niche, too “not what (insert your creative field here)-ers post.”
That’s your prompt this week.
Make it with no pressure to post. Give yourself permission to create something that’s genuinely, unapologetically you. A goofy BTS video, a roll of film with no agenda, direct flash in broad daylight, a portrait of your dog, a reel of you actually talking to the camera. Whatever it is, the only criteria is that it feels a little too you to share.
Whimsy isn’t about doing something foreign. It’s about finally letting yourself do the thing.

Introducing: The Art of Speed — a photography gallery experience on the floor of Lamborghini Montreal, presented by Canon Creator Lab × Socality.
We’re featuring the work of iconic Canadian automotive photographer Alen Palander, a curated spotlight of community images, and an artist talk where Alen walks through the split-second decisions and learned instincts that make (or break) photos at top-speed. Food, drinks, and good company throughout.

Nous mettons en vedette le travail du célèbre photographe automobile canadien Alen Palander, une sélection soignée d’images de la communauté, ainsi qu’une rencontre avec l’artiste où Alen expliquera les décisions prises en une fraction de seconde et les instincts acquis qui font (ou défont) une photo à grande vitesse.
