In Paris’ 18th arrondissement, Mamoudou Camara and Youssouf Fofana are transforming the cultural landscape of La Goutte d’Or with global impact.
Mamoudou, co-founder of the Paris African Cup of Nations, and Youssouf, founder of Maison Château Rouge and International Youth Union, are carving out spaces where young people can connect to their heritage through football, fashion, and collective action. At the heart of it all is a broader diasporic movement led by a new generation who are reclaiming space, honouring legacy, and shaping the narrative on their own terms

Every year in June, one of Europe’s most famous grassroots football tournaments takes place in the Parisian Goutte d’Or district. The Paris African Cup, co-founded by @snow___18 in 2017, brings together 24 teams representing different African countries and stands as a powerful symbol of community and diasporic pride.
We visited the tournament ahead of today’s finals to meet with the founders, teams, and audience members—celebrating the rich diaspora in Paris and beyond. Here’s what went down.
