I was sharing pictures of my work with friends yesterday and it suddenly occurred to me that I never made a post about "Fire Blossom".
I exhibited this piece at @panama.art.factory last December as part of my final assignment before graduating from @sacstate
I also debuted my continuing series titled Soup, which you can see in the post before this one; and exhibited over 20 of my personal works that I created over the course of my educational journey.
Being able to exhibit my art inside of a massive 113 year old pottery kiln was a first for me, and a once in a lifetime experience for those in attendance.
I was honored to create this moment of wonder

"Soup" 2025
One of the pieces I exhibited at @panama.art.factory this year. I am cooking up a bunch of new ideas and experimenting with bringing this concept into the third dimension somehow.
I used a 450 nm Class 3 laser and a simple wire and water dripper combo to suspend the drops of water that were then magnified and projected onto the wall of my studio.
The name Soup refers to what I consider the creative process of this concept. I used water that I took from a temporary creek near the railroad tracks by our studio, and then I continued to add to this concoction over a month and a half. The resulting "soup" of nasty liquid is what you see magnified by 1000 here in this video, which was shot by @hi.im.alia 🤘

This should have been on display during Factory Glow, but there was a situation and it was out of my possession momentarily.
I'm so thankful that it came back to me, and that I was able to photograph it for you to see as it would have looked that night.

Today was as my first day really getting to make art there and I genuinely can't describe how awesome it is to have my own space to create.
It's like Snog Land or something
I can make pretty much every art in this room, or at least every art I make, which is a lot.
My workbench is largely dedicated to sculpture. I have a space to paint. An 8' x 8' area for AR art, laser installations, and photography. A desk for drawing and doing freelance work. Fully stocked painting supplies, both oil and acrylic. An airbrush kit. Every kind of drawing medium you could ever want. Linocut, Sumi ink, spray paints, adhesives, and even some musical instruments for when I'm feelin' it.
It is a fully functioning, real life, multi-media art oasis.

I'm a week deep in the new space and almost all the way moved in.
Today I opened my door that opens up to the railroad tracks on the back side of the building. It was shut tight and screwed from both sides when the building was vacant.
I'm planning a little studio warming party in the coming weeks and I'm excited about that.
I've also come up with a name for this space that I am very pleased with "Metamorphis"
