finally made mini zines 📒✨
long overdue, due to my perfectionism 😅 but im really proud of myself for finally doing something i constantly avoid because i feel ‘unready.’ proud of myself for having fun and not knick-picking myself when something isn’t 100%. a small but big victory for me ❤︎
zines will be available at Meet the Maker market at @littlesaigoncreative curated by @flsseattle on May 16th • 10am to 3pm ❤︎
come say hi & support local ✿.✦ ݁˖

❥ about the zines
{ in between }
features my series of medium format film images from the summer of 2015 in Viet Nam. it was my first trip back home as a young queer & trans person. they’re my observations of feeling like home while also an outsider. feeling as though i’m living between many different realms of existence
collage-tober, 2023
features a select few collages that are my favorite during October of 2023. it is under the premise of Artober that happens unofficially annually where many artists and creatives challenge themselves to create something daily for the full month of October

Over a meal at @chebogzfilipinofood in North Beacon Hill, Jane Wong (@paradeofcats ) interviewed Tamiko Nimura (@tamikonimura ) to discuss her new memoir, “A Place for What We Lose.”
Tamiko’s book delves into the layers of her family’s incarceration at Tule Lake from 1942 to 1946: one of the many camps in which more than 125,000 Japanese Americans were incarcerated during World War II.
Weaving excerpts from her father’s unpublished memoir, Tamiko sings forth the grief of losing her father, while also uncovering her family’s past by venturing herself to Tule Lake as an adult.
“In reading ‘A Place for What We Lose,’ I kept feeling portals of time open,” Jane writes. “And, as such, this is a book that doesn’t quite end.”
