📸LIVE MUSIC 📸 The Barbican is fully seated, though the atmosphere never settles into polite theatre silence. By the time @jamesmorrisonok walks out in a plain green T-shirt and dark casual trousers, there’s already a strange running joke brewing about York’s American tourists mispronouncing city names. Morrison is chatting between songs like somebody catching up with old mates rather than working through a 20th anniversary tour. Twenty years later, Undiscovered no longer sounds like the start of something uncertain. It sounds like a record that already knew exactly where it was heading. 💻 Full review & gallery over on latchmag.com 📸 & 📝 by @snapagig #jamesmorrison #jamesmorrisonlive #latchmaguk

📸LIVE MUSIC 📸 When @lolo finally burst onto the stage, she did so at full speed. Opening with the devil wears converse, she immediately unleashed the kind of energy that transformed the compact Leeds venue into a bouncing wall of movement. Fans near the barricade screamed every word back at her before the first song had even properly settled. 💻 Full review & gallery over on latchmag.com 📸 & 📝 by @snapagig #lølø #livereview #latchmaguk

📸LIVE MUSIC 📸 Texan newcomer @ellared , came armed with sharp pop-rock hooks and the confidence of somebody playing venues twice the size, the 22-year-old delivered a support set that felt far bigger than an opening slot usually allows. From the moment she walked out, there was a natural ease to her performance — playful between songs, but completely locked in once the music started. 💻 Full review & gallery over on latchmag.com 📸 & 📝 by @snapagig #ellared #livereview #latchmaguk

📸LIVE MUSIC 📸 Opening the evening was rising singer-songwriter @dawson.gamble , whose stripped-back honesty provided an ideal contrast to the chaos that followed later in the night. While the crowd were still filtering into The Wardrobe, Gamble managed to immediately pull attention towards the stage with a set built around raw vocals, emotional lyricism and understated confidence. There was a looseness to his performance that made it feel genuine rather than overly rehearsed, and thats even with the laptop backing track accompanying his electric guitar. 💻 Full review & gallery over on latchmag.com 📸 & 📝 by @snapagig #dawsongamble #livereview #latchmaguk

📸LIVE MUSIC 📸 @riannedowney opened with ‘Sunblind’, her voice landing clean and steady, cutting through the polite hush that had settled over The Spa Theatre. No theatrics, no drawn-out intro. A great backing band and beautifully pure vocals that did all the hard work, pitch perfect and hitting those high notes with precision. The violin, introduced almost immediately, became a defining feature — not decorative, but central, weaving through the arrangements. 💻 Full review & gallery live over on latchmag.com 📸 & 📝 by @snapagig #riannedowney #livemusic #latchmaguk

📸LIVE MUSIC 📸 Support came from @ameliacoburn ,— ukulele, dry humour, and songs about modern dating using Tinder and “meeting knobheads” mostly from her Teesside town which she has now christened “Borough Borough” in homage to Scarborough’s ‘Scarbados’ moniker. She certainly loosened the crowd. Her line about selling bookmarks for £1 on the merch desk “because there are always some tight bastards” got one of the night’s biggest laughs. However, away from the between song comedy banter there was much to be impressed with. Coburn has a crystal clear folk voice and some lush lyrical work particularly with closer ‘Oh Captain Guide Me Home’. 💻 Full review & gallery live over on latchmag.com 📸 & 📝 by @snapagig #ameliacoburn #livemusic #latchmaguk

📸LIVE MUSIC 📸 @jalen_ngonda first night of a tour building towards Doctrine of Love, his sophomore album due on the 5th June. There’s a sense of testing the material in real time. Early songs move at a measured pace—tight, unshowy arrangements, his guitar kept close to the chest. His voice though, cuts through the air immediately. High, controlled, and unmistakably rooted in the phrasing of those Motown Soul legends like Smokey Robinson, it needs no warm up. He’s not chasing full attention yet. He’s building something slower, more deliberate. And for now, that seems enough. But be warned, you have a short chance now to catch him in clubs and the academy circuit, arenas will be beckoning once he hits main stream. 💻 Full review & gallery live over on latchmag.com 📸 & 📝 by @snapagig #jalenngonda #jalenngondamusic #latchmaguk

📸LIVE MUSIC 📸 The stage is dressed like a front room complete with fireplace, clock and wallpaper from the 1970s. Lamps, rugs, photographs, a piano, an all seated crowd, and no early signs this is heading anywhere loud. That’s the design. This leg of the @imeldaofficial Raised On Songs & Stories tour is all about an intimate gathering of friends — songs, poems, and stories given equal footing — and it settles into that rhythm immediately. 💻 Read the full review and gallery on latchmag.com 📝 & 📸 by @snapagig #imeldamay #livesinging #tour #latchmag

📸 LIVE REVIEW 📸 At Sheffield City Hall, @toriamos begins her 60+ date UK & European run and after opener ‘Fire To Your Plain’ mid-thought says “Trying some new things,” she grins. It’s less a warning than a promise—and the setlist that follows backs it up with restless, sometimes audacious logic. 💻 Read the full review & gallery over on latchmag.com 📸 & 📝 by @snapagig #toriamos #livemusic #photooftheday #latchmag

🆕 STOCKTON CALLING 2026 🆕 @stocktoncalling always feels like a bit of a hidden gem, it’s always the opening of festival season for me, and by early afternoon, the pavements were busy with eager punters darting between venues, and every doorway seemed to lead to something different — from stripped-back acoustic sets to full-on, sweat-soaked punk pandemonium. There’s something special about this day festival where you can take a chance on an act you’ve never heard of and walk out ten minutes later completely won over. Over on ARC 2, @tanzana.band were always going to be my band of the day. Having caught them last year supporting Cliffords in Leeds I knew what to expect. Vocalist Freya Talbot absolutely owns the stage, the rest of the Glasgow based band look studious with heads bowed and little movement between them. 💻Read the full review live with gallery over on latchmag.com 📸 & 📝 by @snapagig #stocktoncalling #stocktoncalling2026 #independent #latchmag

🆕 LIVE MUSIC 🆕 📍Beckett SU, Leeds There’s a raw physicality to @theskidsofficial show that hasn’t dulled. Tracks like “The Saints Are Coming” and “Masquerade” arrived with a sense of ceremony before exploding — the quiet tension giving way to crashing drums and searing guitar. Jobson always a physical presence, put his heart and soul into every word, stretching lines, repeating refrains at the end, until the entire room became part of the performance. 📸 by @snapagig 📝 by Michael Oglesby
