Last Sunday, October 5th, we hosted our first Flow State — A Meditative Trail Run in Squamish, BC. The goal and purpose was simple, shift the focus from pace to presence. We created a guided group run where participants could slow down, breathe deeply, and forge a connection with the forest, themselves, and the community.
We couldn’t have asked for better conditions — blue skies, sunshine and 20 degrees in October! The day began with introductions, giving everyone a chance to share their personal “why” for running. It was clear many felt running had become too competitive or felt like a chore. This event being a chance to reclaim running as a meditative tool for mental clarity.
The group then moved through guided breathwork and meditation led by
@megg.shepherd , followed by a dynamic warm up from
@snacksagram . We then hit the beautiful Squamish forest trails, running and walking 6km as a group.
The run ended with a cool-down stretch, more breathwork, and a lovely sound bath. Everyone then enjoyed TacoFino burritos (fish, chicken, or veggie) as the perfect post run fuel and a chance to connect with everyone that attended!
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, to our amazing leaders who brought this vision to life,
@megg.shepherd led the meditation, soundbath, breathwork and
@snacksagram led the dynamic warmup and cool down as well as guided the run.
Thank you for supporting:
@arcteryx for giving everyone a running hat and socks.
@tacofinolovesyou for providing everyone with a delicious lunch.
Huge thank you to
@miraecampbell for perfectly capturing the day.
