What started as a return turned into a full rewrite.
Courtney Dauwalter crosses the Cocodona 250 finish line in 2nd place, 61:58 hours after leaving Black Canyon.
From long stretches with friends to the final chase after Wildcat Hill, she kept moving forward with the same energy she’s known for, step by step, smile still there.
Somewhere in all of it, the work done since last year showed up exactly when it needed to.
Redemption complete.

This 4th place is different.
Joe McConaughy finishes Cocodona 250 in 4th place, with a time of 61:40, and it’s one of the most impressive builds of his career.
At home? An 8-week-old son.
In training? Sleepless nights on the couch and a completely different rhythm of life.
And still, he showed up here and delivered a massive performance from start to finish. Not everything was easy leading into it, but nothing about this 4th place was accidental.
Built different. Driven different.
Joe proved his Ultra dad strength.

Some races feel like solo efforts... @cocodona250 isn't one of them.
For @thestring.bean , Cocodona is made possible by the people around him, a crew that never really stops moving.
Food ready when he arrives. Hands on his feet (or shoulders, or glutes) when it matters. Small fixes, quick laughs, and just the right mix of energy and calm to reset before he heads back out.
It's fast, it's messy, and it's constant care.
Because at this point in the race, strength isn't just what you have in you, it's also what your crew gives you when you need it the most

When the miles start stacking up, it's time to bring friends.
For @courtneydauwalter , that meant picking up her pacers, including @mariannehogan_ , and turning a stretch of @cocodona250 into something a bit more social.
A full marathon between the queens, moving forward one step, one laugh at a time.
Because at some point, it's not just about running anymore, it's about the mental game. And having someone you trust there to push, refocus, and keep you moving makes all the difference

When night turns into day, and day turns back into night, racing becomes something else entirely.
At this point, it’s not just about strong legs or a solid stomach. It’s about the people around you, your crew, reading the moments you can’t, lifting you when it matters, and pushing just enough when you need it most.
@thestring.bean is moving well, is high spirits and leaning into the rhythm with his crew.

As the sun rose over Arizona, the race shifted into a new rhythm.
@courtneydauwalter has moved past mile 108, the point where her journey ended last year, continuing her way toward Flagstaff.
Halfway through the effort, she was still moving strong, steady, and focused as day 2 unfolded.
Out on course, her crew stayed close, reading the moments, offering support and smiles, and helping her keep everything moving through the long hours of the race.
With them beside her, she keeps progressing into the unknown, one step at a time.

Fueling for 250 miles isn’t a guess.
For @thestring.bean , it’s built over time and experiences, shaped by @cocodona250 itself.
Every mile teaches something. What works. What doesn’t. What needs to change.
A plan built and refined through experience, ready to adapt when it matters most.
Who knows what day 2 and 3 will bring?

Unfinished stories aren’t just written on race day.
For @courtneydauwalter , preparation means showing up with what she trusts and loves, while leaving space for the unknown.
At @cocodona250 , fueling isn’t something you script perfectly from the start. It’s a puzzle that unfolds one piece at a time.
Adjusting. Adapting. Figuring it out as the race reveals what it asks for.
Let's see what this year wants, where's the fun otherwise?

He’s been here before. He’s won it.
Tomorrow,@thestring.bean returns to @cocodona250 .
Same race. Different life. Different stakes.
What drives you changes when everything else does.

Unfinished stories have a way of calling you back.
Tomorrow morning, @courtneydauwalter will stand on the starting line of @cocodona250 .
Some answers only come one step at a time.
This is where unfinished business becomes a comeback.
A redemption in motion.
