We recently hosted our 2nd annual Skate and Elevate, an all-wheels skate event honoring black excellence through skating, community, and fundraising…and A TIME WAS HAD!!! ❤️🖤💚
First, we want to give a HUGE thank you to those of you who purchased a ticket and/or donated to the Sudan Relief Fund (
@sdnrlffund ) through our donation pool on Instagram. Your generosity is a powerful reminder of what collective effort in the spirit of compassion can do! Thanks to you guys, we were able to raise $622.61 for Village Skatepark operations, and a total of $400 for the Sudan Relief Fund, which will provide Sudanese families with food, clothing, shelter, medical aid, and clean water as they endure the most devastating period in their country’s history (if you are not aware of what’s happening in Sudan, please visit the link in our bio to learn more and consider donating🇸🇩❤️).
Second, we want to give thanks to all of the individuals who helped us bring Skate and Elevate to life this year. Your time, energy, support, and willingness to contribute over the last couple months of planning has meant the world!
As black people, we carry our ancestors with us. Their fight, their strength, everything they endured to make room for us to be here. The way we show up for each other, the way we love one another, the way we create joy together…that is how we honor them! 🫂✊🏾🖤
Looking forward to next year!!
