Light Vortex is the latest project of electronic musician and producer Chris Moore. Kicking off with a contribution to SKAM’s notoriously limited-edition MASK series in 1998, Moore has released a string of 12-inches and LPs as While, Polysilicon, and Thresholds on labels as diverse as Neo Ouija, Musik aus Strom, Chocolate Industries and Psoma Psi Phi.
Moore is also a founding member of ecstatic minimalist group A.M. Boys, and has mixed, recorded, and designed synth sounds for artists including Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV On The Radio and David Bowie.

Today we announced the release of ‘Aurora In Georgian Bay’ by Light Vortex. The album will be released on May 8 in limited CD and unlimited digital editions.
Light Vortex is an alias of producer Chris Moore from While and A.M. Boys. The 11 tracks here embody Chris’ attention to detail, containing layers of intricate electronic sound framed by a naturalistic edge. It’s like looking across the water at a night sky filled with light patterns, as portrayed in the painting of a similar name by J.E.H. MacDonald that inspired the album’s title.
I first got to know Chris when I was asked to interview A.M. Boys for an Electronic Sound feature. I was delighted when he offered me the chance to listen to these tracks and I’m really pleased to be able to release them.
