In June, we’re thrilled to offer two Slow Viewings! We’ll kick things off on **Monday**, June 2 at 6 PM by gathering at @theglocenter for their Queer Artist Showcase! We'll Slow View "A Woman Observed" by Taylor Maisterra. Start Pride Month by celebrating queer artists and engaging deeply with their work! Then, save the date for Thursday, June 26 at 6 PM, as we launch a mini Slow Viewing tour through the @springfieldgreenecountylibrary branches! As always, link in bio to save your seat—we can’t wait to see you there! What is Slow Viewing? During Slow Viewing we spend a full hour looking at one work of art and building a group conversation responding to the work and each other. No art experience is required, we promise! This program is brought in partnership with the @sgfmuseum ! Artist: @taylormaisterra

It was so special to gather at the Rose O'Neill House on @druryuniversity campus last night to Slow View O'Neill's work. Thank you to everyone for diving in deep with this one. Themes of forgiveness, the innocent vs. guilty, parenting and protecting oneself, religion and hope, nature, and loss circulated as we dove into the entangled web of "The Lost Cherub". Thank you to Drury for hosting us! And thank you to @joshuabest24 and @sgfmuseum for championing Slow Viewing. Please join the conversation next month, April 24, 6 pm at MSU Meyer Library ~ More info at the link in bio!

Visited the @washukemperartmuseum last week to see their "Seeds: Containers of the World to Come" exhibition and found several lovely connections to Slow Viewing and Slow Reading! Image 1: The three sisters, whose lessons of reciprocity we lingered on this past summer through Robin Wall Kimmerer's "Braiding Sweetgrass" hang in Nanay Kculli's installation "S'oam Bawi Wenag ~ Kiik K'uum". Images 2-3: The visual poetics of Emmi Whitehorse who we spent time Slow Viewing last year. Images 4 - 7: An interactive project and seed bank, the "Next Epoch Seed Library", housed such great literature on rewilding and land stewardship. These reminders brought me back to all the wonderful conversations we've held over the years!
