🌜 Luna Park was a big influence to the toon-theme-park. 🎢 My Dad and his family were all born and raised in Melbourne / Naarm – so I always had a bit of a connection to the city. I moved to Naarm in 2019 and stayed (through COVID lockdowns) until 2024. Luna Park was first opened in 1912, and the entrance face still stands as strong as ever. Here is my self portrait as a Luna Park-esque entrance. 😛

💭 A long term dream, I’ve been designing this cartoon theme-park since 2020. It’s taken on lots of different shapes and forms, often entering my own dreams – I’d visit the park on the Astral Plane. 🛌 Being born on the Gold Coast / Bundjalung – I was exposed to a lot of theme parks growing up. We have Dreamworld, Movie World, Sea World, Wet ‘n’ Wild… an ode to Dreamworld – “The Astral Planes”; a ride where you can nap. 😴

This World is a place for the collision between Toon and Tune (and because the 2 words soundalike, I treat them alike). 🦘
🍳 Slow Moving Shop 🥄 Every theme park has a gift shop, and Slow Moving World is no different. In fact, it’s sort of one of the main reasons I started this project. It brings me a lot of joy to make art that can serve a function… because, it often feels like it doesn’t do much. When I can wear my cartoons on a t-shirt, or feel them on paper – it feels special.
