Happy 1 year anniversary to Slow Drinks! 🥳
.
After 1 year of our book being out, we’re so happy to finally announce that we have signed, personalized copies available on our website (James Beard sticker included!!) along with our new line of T-shirts and totes.
.
So many people have DM’ed this past year asking what our preferred place for people to purchase books was, and I can now say confidently that place is our website!! (Link in Bio)
.
There’s so much I want to say about this past year, but I’ll save that for another time. For now, I’ll say that I use this book almost every day. Even though its pages are stained with dirt, syrups, and sweat, the book has held up amazingly well, just as we designed it to do.

Philly, we’re up first!
On June 4, Field Study kicks off at the beautiful @philadelphiadistilling with a daytime Science Fair centered around Slow Drinks, fermentation, preservation, regional ingredients, and storytelling through hospitality. The event will feature an incredible group of bars, farms, fermenters, and collaborators from across the country for an interactive, sensory experience followed by a panel discussion.
Afterward, we’ll move the party over to @vernickfish at the @fsphiladelphia for a pop-up showcasing drinks created by some of the bars participating in the daytime event, including @devie.bar , @bluehillfarm , @thedeadrabbit , @thelifeofreillynj , @almanacphilly , and @lajefaphilly .
Tickets for the Science Fair are live now at the link in bio. All daytime proceeds benefit the Slow Food Bartenders Alliance. The nighttime pop-up is first come, first served.

Two weeks later, and we’re still feeling so inspired and energized from our time spent collaborating with @arca.tierra , @baldio.mx , and @cafe.denadie . The ecosystem they’ve built between the farms in the chinampas, their fermentation lab (aka la Baldega), and their hospitality outlets is a model the world could desperately use more of. On top of that, they’re all genuinely great people. Hasta la próxima vez, amigos ✌️🌱🇲🇽

Sakura & Maple Sap Highball - St. George Shochu, Cherry Blossom, Maple Sap, CO2
.
A rite of spring beverage I look forward to every year. @stgeorgespirits California kasutori-style shochu’s punchy 40% ABV works perfectly to extract the sakura’s delicate flavors which balance perfectly with the spirit’s nutty, earthy flavors. The maple sap adds the slightest bit of sweetness and the @isiculinary_international Twist and sparkle gives it tight bubbles with a refreshing finish. Spring hath sprung 🌸🍁🫧
