Found these Stag C-Range drawers in a charity shop. Someone had painted the drawers and then wallpapered over them. They’d done a decent job to be fair but I couldn’t leave it like that. I stripped off the paper and paint, found the carcass was a bit knackered, so I re-veneered the whole thing in European oak. Turned new legs, put it all back together, and now the world feels right again.
Ercol plank table and chairs restored for a couple who’ve owned them for 54 years.
I kept the old repairs as they’re part of the story. This set has seen kids grow up, grandkids arrive, and countless family meals. Furniture becomes part of a home’s history, and this one really has.
I stripped off the thick varnish an insurance company added after a flood 30 years ago, reglued all the chair backs, and brought everything back to how it should look. Now it’s back in the family home, ready for the next 50 years.
