Our goal is to give students a sense of the house dance community and club culture. We introduce them to inspiring movement patterns that have been established over decades within the global house community. In doing so, we support them in discovering their bodies through ideas, concepts, attitudes, and alternative ways of moving, helping them find their own paths to express house music through dance. However, simply attending class is not enough to truly learn this dance form. Real interaction at events, in the club, or during sessions with continuous house music is essential. Unser Ziel in der Tanzschule ist es, den Schüler*innen ein Gefühl für die House-Tanz-Community und die Clubkultur zu vermitteln. Wir stellen ihnen inspirierende Bewegungsabläufe vor, die sich über Jahrzehnte in der weltweiten House-Community etabliert haben. Dabei unterstützen wir sie, ihren Körper durch Ideen, Konzepte, Haltungen und alternative Bewegungsmöglichkeiten zu entdecken und individuelle Wege zu finden, die House-Musik tänzerisch umzusetzen. . Es reicht jedoch nicht, nur am Unterricht teilzunehmen, um diese Tanzform zu erlernen. Der reale Austausch auf Veranstaltungen, im Club oder bei Sessions mit kontinuierlicher House-Musik ist von essenzieller Bedeutung. . LAWRAYS Dance Challenge: The challenge was to create a concept-based dance video as a one-shot. In advance, only the participants, the time frame, the song, and the outfits were determined. . On Thursday, May 1st, 2025, the team met and had a briefing from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM to discuss the concept and the structure of the video. Individual dancers were assigned to create short choreography sections. . From 11:45 AM to 1:30 PM, the choreographies were created and practiced, and the entire flow was rehearsed. Camera movement was also practiced during this time. Between 1:30 PM and 2:30 PM, the dancers got changed, freshened up, and headed as a team to the filming location. . From 2:30 to 4:00 PM, several takes were recorded. The footage was captured using a camera by @roblawray for YouTube, and additionally with a smartphone for Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and TikTok. . The video was then edited and finalized from 9:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The entire process took 5 hours.
