When Andie MacDowell introduces you to a room of 200 creators, artists, leaders, and the @lorealparis team, and asks you to speak about refugees and immigrants, you don’t miss what that means. This work has reached a national stage. I’m incredibly proud to stand in that room carrying the stories of the families we serve at @helloneighborhq . Proud to talk about what welcome actually looks like. Proud to name the truth: refugees and immigrants are rebuilding, contributing, and leading every single day. Visibility matters. Platform matters. And using it responsibly matters most. Grateful to L’OrĆ©al Paris for making space for this conversation. Grateful to the new neighbors who trust us with their stories. We’re all worth it.

I’m incredibly honored to be named one of the ten @lorealparis 2025 Women of Worth honorees. This is an extra special year as the program celebrates its 20th Anniversary. Each year, L’Oreal Paris selects women from across the nation to support through charitable grants, mentorship, and a national platform to spread the word on their important charitable missions.Ā And I’m the first honoree from Southwestern Pennsylvania in all of their 20 years running this program! Through this recognition, @helloneighborhq will receive a grant to continue supporting refugee and immigrant families as they build new lives and belonging in Pittsburgh. Being part of this year’s Women of Worth class is deeply humbling. The women in this group are extraordinary, each one building something that changes lives and communities for the better. I feel lucky to know them and to learn from their stories. You can read about all of the honorees and their powerful work at womenofworth.com Here’s a glimpse of my fellow honorees: Amy Bowers Cordalis: Protects and restores Indigenous land, water, and cultural resources. Anita Ravi: Pioneers gender-based-violence–focused medical care and trains clinicians worldwide. Cristina Rodriguez: Uses music to bring joy and connection to older adults with neurological conditions and youth with special needs. Gloria Umanah: Makes mental-health hope and help free and accessible 24/7. Lynn Hughes: Offers free bereavement camps for kids grieving the loss of a parent, sibling, or caregiver. Mizpah Brown-Rich : Builds inclusion and support networks for families affected by autism and IDD. Olivia Zhang: Empowers youth to support pediatric-cancer patients and create a caring hospital community. Yasmine Arrington Brooks: Provides scholarships, mentoring, and mental-health support to help children of incarcerated parents finish college. Keely Cat-Wells: Closes the employment gap for Disabled people through advocacy, training, and opportunity. Thank you, L’OrĆ©al Paris! #LorealPartner #lorealparis #womenofworth

The most beautiful perfect rainbow appeared. We ran outside getting our socks wet and staring at the sky in wonder. What beauty surrounds us when we stop to notice.

Missing my sweet Piper on what we called her ā€œgotcha day.ā€ I never grew up with a dog and wanted one so badly! Taylor and I loved up on her so much while we had her and she saw us through so many hard times. And she was there to welcome both Felix and Monroe. She will always have a special place in our hearts. 🌈

Missing my Dad on today his birthday. 20 years now without him. I loved everything about him and he was so funny, loving, and he traveled the world, served in the U.S. Army, he earned everything he has on his own terms. He was so handsome he was compared to Gene Kelly in his youth. I just wish so much he could have met Taylor and our boys.

Happy 9th Birthday to @helloneighborhq ! When I first started Hello Neighbor it was nights and weekends and I was ALL IN. I was working on the pilot, plus had just had my first baby, plus was in graduate school, plus the 2016 election was over and I kept waking up thinking ā€œwe have to show every day neighbors we are welcoming, we can’t let hate divide us.ā€ As graduation loomed for my mid-career masters from SPIA at Pitt, I looked ahead and said, ā€œThe day after graduation will be my first full day at Hello Neighbor.ā€ I graduated on April 27th, 2017 and count the 28th (TODAY) as the first day full-time, no going back. Today, Hello Neighbor has supported thousands of refugees and immigrants. And it’s the team (of almost 50!) and the board and donors and volunteers and clients and supporters and community partners and ALL OF YOU that has made this possible. Truly this has been the honor of my lifetime to build this organization and I am so proud to do this work each and every day. Thank you Pittsburgh. Thank you partners and friends and mentors and peers. Thank you to my family, my husband, my kids. Your supports is what lets me continue to do this. Thank you for believing in me, believing in this mission, believing in our core values and more than anything thank you to the new neighbors who put their trust in me. That is a responsibility I do not take for granted. It is their futures that keep me going even now. Creating a better today and tomorrow. I’m still here! Still building. These are photos from the years - starting with our kitchen birthday celebration today.

NFL Draft Day 2! 10/10 no notes. Great job Pittsburgh! And way to catfish on the perfect weather. It’s always sunny with big fluffy white clouds here! Public transportation was so great and easy and made the whole experience so much better. It’s almost like…wait for it… public transportation is worth investing in! I realized I’m uniquely positioned to handle this Yinzchella since I’ve been to most major music and sporting events around the country. Pick your route, find shade, stay hydrated, only wait in the lines that are truly worth it, have fun! It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity for Pittsburgh. We had a blast! Truly if you are in the fence about going, GO! Pittsburgh is shining so bright and I’m really proud of our city.

The NFL draft is here and it’s so fun! We took the bus it was easy, walked through the three main areas - Market Square, Point State Park and Acrisure. Big crowds but not too overwhelming, so many fun activations for kids and sports fans and everyone there. Saw lots of friends, ran into tons of people. So proud to be a Pittsburgher this week! We’re headed back for Day 2. See yinz there?!

ā€œBro bro to bro bro,ā€ was their mantra for the week. These are some golden hour moments (it’s not always like this) but when it is, man is it adorable. Love their brotherly love for each other.
