Join us this Thursday, May 7 at 7 pm for the May Ballpark Community Council meeting. This month, we’ll discuss proposed Salt Lake City ordinance changes related to camping on public property, including parks, sidewalks, park strips, and streets. Speakers from Salt Lake City, the Utah Office of Homeless Services, and the Salt Lake City Police Department’s Homeless Resource Center squad will help explain the proposed changes with time for questions and discussion. This is a difficult and deeply human issue. Ballpark residents have experienced real concerns about safety and access to public spaces, while people experiencing homelessness continue to face crisis-level barriers to shelter, housing, healthcare, and stability. 📍 SLCC South City Campus, Room 2-188
💻 Zoom option available — register at the link in bio. More info about the proposal: link.slc.gov/Camping We hope you’ll join us for a thoughtful conversation about public spaces, neighborhood safety, access to services, and the needs and dignity of all residents.

A big thank you to all the crossing guards in Salt Lake City! You do vital work to keep our kids safe on their way to school every day. I got to express my gratitude at @slcmayor ’s School Crossing Guard Appreciation event last week and it was such an honor. You guys rock!

What started with a Coffee with a Cop event in @slcdistrict5 this morning led directly to productive conversations about boarded problem properties in the neighborhood, to a neighborhood visit, and then more good talks with neighbors about what they’re seeing and how to report it. Nice going, @slcpd ! Ballpark neighbors are grateful for your support and willingness to show up and listen.
