We're just a few weeks out from our spring Applied Liquid Handling Bootcamp and due to continued interest early bird registration rates have been extended through the remainder of registration. “This has been a very comprehensive workshop to attend. I think it's been very beneficial to get hands on work experience learning about the different liquid classes, how to approach problems, and then actually be able to run them, test them, and then work around them and find possible solutions to improve your workflow.” Charles Mack, MSE (Carnegie Mellon) and attendee of the inaugural SLAS Applied Liquid Handling Bootcamp found last year's spring bootcamp to be extremely worthwhile, especially as a student looking to launch his career after pursuing his PhD. Our upcoming bootcamp at Carnegie Mellon University is designed to provide that same hands-on experience through practical training in automated liquid handling, workflows and troubleshooting helping attendees strengthen their technical skills and apply what they learn in real-world lab settings. Whether you’re preparing for your first role or looking to deepen your expertise in your current position, this course is designed to help you grow your skills through real-world application. Join us June 9-10!

Laura VanHeerden, Researcher-Automation Engineering at @stjude , was looking to strengthen her liquid handling skills, so she joined us at last spring's Applied Liquid Handling Bootcamp to build on her existing knowledge and found the real value in getting hands-on with the technology: “The hands-on portion was 100% needed. You cannot learn a lot about liquid handling without physically seeing it and physically taking it apart, doing different steps and seeing what errors can be caused and how you can fix them. It's a good introduction to see what types of error can come up during any protocol that you develop and how you can solve those errors or learn to think about how to solve them.” By working directly with equipment and troubleshooting real protocol challenges, attendees walk away better equipped to identify errors, optimize workflows and approach problem-solving with greater confidence. Find out more about next month's bootcamp at @carnegiemellon via the second link in our bio.
