Laura VanHeerden, Researcher-Automation Engineering at @stjude , was looking to strengthen her liquid handling skills, so she joined us at last spring's Applied Liquid Handling Bootcamp to build on her existing knowledge and found the real value in getting hands-on with the technology:
“The hands-on portion was 100% needed. You cannot learn a lot about liquid handling without physically seeing it and physically taking it apart, doing different steps and seeing what errors can be caused and how you can fix them. It's a good introduction to see what types of error can come up during any protocol that you develop and how you can solve those errors or learn to think about how to solve them.”
By working directly with equipment and troubleshooting real protocol challenges, attendees walk away better equipped to identify errors, optimize workflows and approach problem-solving with greater confidence.
