San Diego… a true hometown favorite,
@ricscales is stepping into #WrinkleInTimeV THIS SUNDAY, with that raw, veteran energy — and if you’ve ever witnessed him in a freestyle battle or caught one of his Slappin’ Hands showcases, you already know why the whole city claims him as one of their own.
One half of the dynamic duo, 18Scales, with Chuck M00n. Multiple-time Battlebot champion at the Casbah. Founder and curator of Slappin’ Hands, the monthly Hip Hop & R&B showcase that’s been feeding the local scene for years. This man is more than an emcee — he’s a pillar, a promoter, a playwright, and one of the realest voices holding down underground hip-hop in Southern California.
Expect sharp bars, lived-in wisdom, and that effortless command of the stage that only comes from years of putting in real work.
He’s sliding through with headliners Eligh & Scarub of Living Legends, Propaganda & Producer Trent Taylor (fresh off This Is Our Fellowship), Sham Blak, Yams & Odessa Kane, Red Moore, Shawn Christopher, Shea Givens & SeeForYourself, BRVNDON on the decks — all hosted by Prince Q.
