So I directed a music video.
And honestly… I almost didn’t.
A simple truth… a lot of us are living with a story that says we’re not enough.
And we carry it for so long, it starts to feel like who we are.
When @travstever sent me the song, I knew right away…
I love this.
I feel this.
That quiet fear of not being enough. That feeling that sits underneath everything.
I told @jen_stever I had an idea.
But it needed people.
A lot of people.
She listened to the song… and teared up.
And before I could even blink, she said, “I’ve got 15.”
And just like that… it wasn’t an idea anymore.
It was happening.
And the whole time, I was living in that space I know too well…
doubt
fear
anxiety
but also this strange knowing…
that sometimes that’s exactly where you’re supposed to be
when you’re trying to make something real.
For a long time, all I could see in my work was what was wrong.
I couldn’t see the good in it.
Maybe it’s time.
Maybe it’s growth.
Or maybe it’s just learning to be a little kinder to yourself.
This project came from that place.
Wanting to make something that reminds people… you’re not alone in that feeling.

From backyard BBQs to big stages, last night was a full-circle moment with family and music. We got to hang with Travis, take him to see Sage at Dutch Bros, and then watch him do what he does best: light up the stage with Coheed and Cambria 🎸
Our story with Coheed goes back over 20+ years, when Travis first played us tracks in his old Saturn from a little band called Shabütie. I didn’t know what to expect then, but I knew it was special.
Fast forward through all my seasons of life, seeing shows, cheering from the crowd, and watching the magic grow- and it’s clear this ride is far from over. From the energy of the crowds last night- they must have agreed.

Gary’s flies are uptown and classy. Mine are punk rock—ragged, messy, all loose ends.
He invited me down to Bend this weekend and took me fly fishing on the Fall and Crooked rivers. He’s been teaching me to tie flies for a couple of years now, and even though I haven’t tried one of my scrappy misfits on the river yet, maybe someday one will fool a trout.
Truth is, I’ll never remember all the bug names or which fly belongs to which hatch. My mind always drifts to the sound of the water, the beauty of the banks, the simple hope of catching a fish. But that’s okay - because what Gary teaches me isn’t just about fishing. It’s about patience, thoughtfulness, and how joy lives in the process, not perfection.
Grateful for him. A good father. A good leader. A great man.

We met at the Springfield Mall in 1994 - you were a quarter queen at Tilt and I slung pizza at Sbarro. Two kids stumbling into forever without even knowing it.
Jen once told me she’d never date anyone who wasn’t at least twenty. She said that on April 28, 1997. My 20th birthday was April 27. 😂
We married in 1997. And last week we walked Lloyd Center - to celebrate 28 years together,
to honor our mall-love roots,
to remember where it all began.
The malls have changed.
We have too.
But love - our love - has carried us through the best and the worst.
Because love isn’t perfect, it’s lived.
It’s the mess and the miracle.
It’s learning who you are alone
and who you are together.
And somehow, through it all,
I love you more deeply now
than I ever could have then.
You will forever be my Jenalope.

Petal & Pose 2025 is a good start. We’re on our way up. 👆🏼
Next year will be even better.
Our goal is that our value would be recognized by @portland and that we would receive the funding needed for next year’s show.
Then -we put on the best show for our fellow creators, dreamers, and doers and for our town. I love the juxtaposition of people living their lives as we produced a fashion show around them. The urban landscape for our venue was fire. 🔥
We want to bring more vibrancy back✨. You can see shimmers of it glimmers- but there’s lots of work to do. We don’t sit on our butts and wait for other people to do things for us. We collaborate. We elevate. We are the movers and the dreamers.
