My boys. Fifteen years of the three of us. Coast to coast and my whole adult life, it was me, Claude, and Niko. They held down a very polite rivalry for lap space and would sell their souls for a single treat. Claude came first, and began his time with me by napping in a secret space for 12 straight hours while I put up fliers and searched the neighborhood several times over trying to find him. Niko redefined selective hearing and forged uncharted territories in the name of snacks. They were my furry little emotional rocks and I will love them forever.
They got to know so many of you, and I am so grateful for how you all loved them. They were the luckiest little guys, and I am even luckier to have been their person. Their lives were so short in the grand scheme of things, and I’m glad they got to spend their time on earth with so many incredible friends.
Thank you for loving them. They gave me all their years and I am lucky to have had them. Claude and Niko forever.
2025, you were so bright and also sometimes very rainy. I went a million places and saw a million shows and I got to do it all with the literal greatest people to ever exist, so a little rain was ultimately just about balance. Thank you to everyone who got silly with me this year, and extra special thank you to @evnbrown , who continues to be one of the top 3 best things about my life (along with my dog and cheese). Here’s to a good one 🥂
Twenty (20) years of friendship with these two beautiful geniuses. High school was weird, but we are infinitely and eternally weirder, and thus, are bound together forever. I am indescribably grateful to have family like them in a world like this.
2024 was a fucking Year. There was movement and music and love and discovery, and I will never be anything but grateful for the passage of time and the people who weathered it with me.
Here’s to 2025, which promises to be even more bonkers 🤘
If you love giving and receiving nicknacks, thingamabobs, doohickeys, or trinkets, I recommend attending a music festival.
Each of these items has a story behind it, a moment of connection and generosity that exists at the core of what it means to be a Bonnaroovian. These little bits and bobs remind me year round that our collective spirit is ever present, even when we’re away from the farm.
#bonnaroo
#Bonnaroo 2023 was transformational. This was my tenth time on the farm, and the magic hasn’t ever diminished - in fact, I think it gets stronger every year. On a grand scale, I’m unbelievably proud of the community and the energy we’ve created here. On a personal level, my ever-expanding little festival family is the best thing that’s ever happened to me, and I hope we get to keep being weird and seeing music together for the rest of our lives. I hope everyone had a spectacular Roo, and I can’t wait to see you all next year 💜
