At the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley, our Housing Program provides free legal advice and representation on housing-related matters to low-income families and individuals in Santa Clara County.
Our office is currently working on providing a series of workshops for renters living in San Jose, who are experiencing unhealthy and unsafe living conditions. The purpose of the workshop is to empower tenants and teach them on how to file a complaint to the City of San Jose's Code Enforcement Department to fight for better living conditions.
Our workshop will take about 1 hour where we will go over tenant protections, the Code Enforcement complaint process, How to File and Next Steps. We will have this workshop in Spanish and in English.

Fast fashion robs garment workers of their right to organize for fair pay and safe conditions. In the game it sells us, our moves are buy, wear, discard, repeat. If instead we mend what we own to make it last, we no longer play the game. Fast fashion keeps prices low by beating and shooting workers that protest*, so let’s stop feeding corporate greed! Join us if this kind of resistance speaks to you.
