Now that you know that we mean business, it’s time for you to know what we’re all about 🏳️ 𝙒𝙃𝘼𝙏 𝙎𝙄𝙕𝙕𝙇𝙀𝙋𝙍𝙊𝙊𝙁 𝙎𝙏𝘼𝙉𝘿𝙎 𝙁𝙊𝙍 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿 (𝗣𝗢𝗖). However, POC DJs still account for a very small proportion of lineups in the electronic scene, in Europe and around the world. In addition, as POC DJs ourselves and consumers of this music, we notice a broken, stereotyped and misunderstood link between POC and electronic music. 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗢𝗖 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰. That’s why we want to create spaces where this connection can be rekindled in a communal way, by putting (queer) POC - and their allies - back at the center of the conversation, both in lineups and crowds. We believe a better understanding of the foundations of this scene as well as showcasing diverse talent is the key to building and reconnecting with tomorrow’s club culture in a healthier way. Co-founder of SIZZLEPROOF, Their sound is deeply influenced by the warm, atmospheric synths of the ‘80s, which serves as the backbone for their diverse sonic palette. Driven by a deep passion for music, @__hysope__ was inspired to explore DJing, where their energetic sets combine Latin-influenced rhythms, Breaks, Hardgroove and Ghetto tech, creating a dynamic and infectious atmosphere.
