Poison Ruin - Hymns from the hills LP on @relapserecords , copper shimmer variant limited to 300 copies. @poisonruin second full length, if you don’t count the s/t compilation with the tapes on. And this one is surely not a let down, although it is way more catchy song wise than its predecessor album. You get “hymns” like Lily of the valley and Hymn from the hills, but also ripping songs like Edolon plus a lot dungeon synth interludes. My only complaints, the sound is way more polished than on the previous releases, the old songs did sound way more muddy and much more reverb. Plus the song Howls from citadel sounds a lot like that Moby song Porcelain to me. Sorry can’t help it. Terror - Still suffer on @flatspotrecords . @terrorhardcore 11th album (or 10th? I definitely didn’t do my homework) finally arrived after some derailed mail from @coretexrecords and from the US courtesy of @brooklynvegan . Thanks again to Sophia @coretexrecords for taking care of it. Great record from start to finish, the title track lines in to classic songs like Keepers and Always the hard way. Sweet. The Brooklyn Vegan version is limited to 200 copies on green brownish twister beer colored vinyl and the @coretexrecords variant is limited to 300 hand numbered copies on Tigers Eye vinyl. The Rival Mob - Mob Justice LP on @revelationrecords . 2nd press on clear red vinyl. This is one of the very few albums that’s definitely doesn’t fit on the REV rooster. Hardcore boot Boys Oi HC vs Whatever. But still a very pleasing HC record, definitely not in the veins of Brendan’s later bands like Battle Ruins. Some weeks ago, this was reissued as a picture disc which of course looks amazing, but sounds like arse. And that being said, I draw the connection to one of the most hyped records of this month, @socialdistortion s Born to kill album, which has also been released on picture disc. Probably sounding also as bad as the Rival Mob LP. Turnstile - NPR Tiny Desc Concert LP on pink wax. I’m not gonna talk about the Grammys, Brady Ebert and anything else. I like Turnstile and I guess they deserve all the hype. Both of the Tiny Desk concerts were great and it’s nice to have them both on vinyl. What is not nice however is how the postal service handled my package. (See slides) This has to be one of worst packages I ever received, except for that Italian guy that send my Agnostic Front LP in an old recycled crisps/chips cardboard. Seriously, FU. But this LP was really well packed, vinyl was supported by two cardboard inserts, all inside a a sturdy LP vinyl mailer. Still the postal services managed to totally fuck up the parcel, actually it looks like a dog was searching for a bone inside of it and had bitten it to death. Neurosis - An undying love for a burning world 2xLP on @neurotrecordings . Seaweed green vinyl limited to 1100 copies, fast delivered by @evil_greed two weeks before release date. Missed out on the Galaxy variant two times, but got a Burning World version coming in the mail next week. I guess not a lot of people saw this coming when they went viral for spring equinox and released the album in full the same night. So now the vinyl is shipping, the artwork on this is amazing from the tip-on gatefold to the black sun spot varnish on the front. the songs on the album are stellar and I really enjoy listening to it although I’m more of a HC music guy. I could still kick my in the bollocks for selling that original Alternative Tentacles Testpress of Souls at zero that I one had in the nineties. Oh well. There you go. One of my most influential and important albums from my youth. I was around 20 years when this came out in 1995, bought it on CD at a local record store and for the last years I always regretted not buying the vinyl version instead. Fast forward 20 years later I managed to pick up an original RR and a red reissue by MOV, and then this thing was announced by @smartpunkrecords and @thirty.something.records . An anniversary press on a hell of a lot different colors from different retailers, but ordered in a heartbeat from the good folks @thirty.something.records cause they had a special variant in a screen printed special sleeve, beautiful designed by @andre_liegl limited to just 200 numbered copies on orange smoke vinyl. And damn, the vinyl color just nails it to the sleeve art 🔥 This is truly one of the most amazing packages of the year 2026, the only other one I could think of is the @evil_greed version of the new @bandofnothing LP. Holy Blade - s/t EP on @closedcasketactivities . Yo, our mate @allthedecentnamesaregone beat me on this one posting it earlier this evening but I still wanna appreciate this awesome record. @holyxblade is a side project of some dudes from various hardcore bands including @colinyovng from the @hardlorepod podcast. Rip Bo! So if you think that the best record AFI have released is the All Hallows EP, be sure to check this out. And don’t be driven away by the wee bit cheesy cover art, this record is one of my favourite spins of the moment. The moment the bass kicks in in the intro song is so amazing and sets the pace for 10/10 record. Only letdown is that it is just an EP and damn short. But apparently there is a full length in the works. Solid gold.
