Skyward was unveiled a few days ago in Abu Dhabi, and I am still overwhelmed in the most beautiful way. I tried to capture this journey in these 20 slides.
Commissioned by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Abu Dhabi for Manar 2025
@publicartabudhabi , this project marks one of the most meaningful moments in my practice so far.
This is a first glimpse into the path that brought it to life: the 10.5-ton stone sourced from Ras al-Jaima, shaped by time, the hands that refined it, the choreography of light we created, the alignment with the beautiful
@jubailisland desert sky, and the many encounters that guided this process.
Skyward is a quiet invitation to look upward, to feel the connection between earth and cosmos, between matter and light, between what we know and what we imagine.
Thank you
@publicartabudhabi for the trust and vision, and to the curators
@khaihori @aliazaal @munira.alsayegh and
@mariam.alis and the whole team of
@dctabudhabi .
Above all bigger thank you to my incredible team who made this possible:
