One guitar. Sixty-plus pieces of Canadian history. Five extraordinary voices.
On Friday, May 29 at Small World Centre, we're hosting something truly special: Six String Nation: Sounds Like Canada ✨
Voyageur isn't just a guitar — it's built from materials gathered across every province and territory, each piece carrying a story of who we are. Created by Peabody Award-winning storyteller Jowi Taylor (
@six_string_nation ), it's now celebrating 20 years since its national debut on Parliament Hill.
This evening, five incredible artists from the Small World Music Incubator bring Voyageur to life through their own genres, cultures, and lived experiences:
@eunicekeitan — Malaysian-Canadian Neo-Soul fused with ancestral Asian soundscapes
@jelopezmusic — Filipino-Canadian blues, soul & R&B storytelling
@jercabr — Toronto-based artist blending Bahia rhythms with contemporary textures
@karlagarciamusic — Chilean-Canadian classical guitar meets Latin American tradition
@tarek.ghriri.guitarist — Palestinian/Syrian-Canadian flamenco & Arabic fusion
Plus: a portrait session where YOU can join the gallery of 150,000+ portraits holding Voyageur
📸 Complimentary beverages & curated hors d'oeuvres throughout the night.
