In the wake of the killing of 23-year-old Gazan journalist Hossam Shabat, we would like to dedicate this episode to the journalists of Palestine, working under near impossible conditions 🍉
The Palestinian journalist @lamaghosheh has experienced firsthand the punitive and ruthless nature of the Israeli judicial system. In 2022 she was accused of inciting violence and supporting terrorism. Since then she has been arrested, put under house arrest and forced to perform community service in Israel.
This episode was recorded in the summer of 2024 in @sirdabstudio on the occupied West Bank in Palestine.

Throughout our time in Palestine last summer, we were mesmerised by the stories of the First Intifada. The innovative, non-violent, magical popular revolt against Israeli domination in the late 80’s and early 90’s. We noticed that many Palestinian millennials and Gen Z’s were equally mesmerised, because our current situation is one of such despair and destruction.
Iman Aoun and @ashtartheatre is a direct product of the momentous First Intifada – theatre for the people! Theatre against tyranny! Theatre for artistic liberation!
