To say Yakitori Guy’s yakitori is “good” honestly feels like an insult.
Every single course is a reflection of pure craftsmanship. From the precision of his cuts, to the thoughtful presentation, to the depth of flavor in every bite, you can tell nothing is accidental. It’s all intentional, refined, and executed with serious care.
We did a full buyout for the night with friends, and it turned into one of those rare, unforgettable experiences. The food was incredible, but it went way beyond that — the music, the atmosphere, the pacing of the meal… everything just clicked. It felt warm, intimate, and genuinely fun. The kind of night where you’re fully present, laughing, connecting, and not checking your phone. By the end of the night, every single one of us said the same thing: we have to do this again.
What really stood out is that his approach to yakitori isn’t just about cooking, it’s a philosophy. There’s a deep respect for the craft, the ingredients, and the experience he’s creating for guests.
There are many amazing yakitori spots in LA, and a lot of talented chefs pushing the craft forward. But this experience? It’s easily one of the most memorable and special yakitori meals we’ve had!
If you get the chance, don’t hesitate. 🔥

Some sakes follow tradition. Chimera Tokubetsu Junmai was born from curiosity.
Brewed in northern Kyoto, it’s crafted with three types of koji and three strains of yeast... a rare approach that blends old-world technique with bold experimentation.
Like its mythical name, Chimera is made from many parts, yet comes together beautifully: bright, textured, and quietly powerful.
A reminder that innovation can live in harmony with tradition.
Happy New Year Eve Eve! Kanpai!

CEVICHE x SIPT
A beautiful night at Ceviche Project in the suave and capable hands of Octavio, with the Sake daddi himself, Brian Booth, and the sake savants who make the magic happen, Joyce and Kim. This whole event was about showing how well great sake can pair with food like Octavio’s, and he put together a delicious special menu that proved the point over and over again. A real pleasure to experience.
I already stood on a soap box about Ceviche Project, but I need to say it again because it matters. Support your local mom and pop places that are doing things the right way. The places where someone is truly busting their ass without the backing of a big restaurant group. Octavio is doing everything himself and doing it with pride, intention, and style.
Same goes for SIPT. Another mom and pop biz putting in real work and curating sake with care, knowledge, and passion. No shortcuts. No machine behind them. Just people who actually love what they do.
Cheers to another great meal at Ceviche Project and to SIPT for the thoughtful sake selections that made the night feel special. Two small but mighty businesses, working hard and delivering the goods. Support them. They deserve it.
Fukuda Sake Brewery has been crafting tradition for over 330 years since 1688. It is one of the few sake breweries in Nagasaki, Japan’s westernmost prefecture.
In 2023, a new wave began - Fukuumi "fortune of the sea" was born. It was created with gratitude for all the good fortune brought by the sea and carries forward Fukuda's vision of sake that celebrates both heritage and horizon.

We had the pleasure of visiting the beautiful Fujii Distillery in Oita Prefecture, and we are so grateful for their warm hospitality. A special journey by ferry brought us here, and it was truly worth it.
The Tokujo Taimei Mugi shochu has been selected to be served in ANA business class for 2024 and 2025. But you don’t have to fly to Japan to enjoy this amazing shochu because we got it right here in the U.S.

AMAZING Yakitori @souten_otsuka ! Perfectly paired with our Kozaemon Junmai Ginjo Tori sake from Gifu prefecture @kozaemon46 . One of the hand-drawn Yakitori illustrations on the Kozaemon Tori label was created by the Souten team. Can you guess which one?
