This beautiful photo was taken by 12-year-old Easton while at cancer camp.
He's a birder, a fighter, and he spotted 261 birds — beating his personal goal of documenting 250 last year.
Bird 152 was this Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker. He turned to his mom and said, "Mom! It's a Sapsucker like the drink!"
Easton has been battling brain cancer for three years. His family finds strength in this quote:
"Bird by bird, buddy. Just take it bird by bird." — @annelamott
So that's what they're trying to do. They just don't know if there's light at the end of the tunnel. But they do know they see and hear the birds...so they focus on that.
May 9 is World Migratory Bird Day, and so, we thought we'd share Easton's story and his stunning photo with our community today. And we appreciate his family sharing their moving story of hope, love, strength and courage with us.
Tag someone who would benefit from Easton's story today. ❤️
