The Kids of Dolpo.
During SEE break, my friends and I organized a fundraiser to support scholarships for children in Upper Dolpa. Our little effort helped support 8 kids with their education for a year.
As a @usycnofficial ’22 member, I met @milankst dai, who had taught children in Dolpo and still continues to support them in their education through @hdinepal . Although I couldn’t join the project, the team carried out a successful health camp in this remote region despite all the trials and tribulations.
This year in August, one thing led to another, and I finally found myself packing for a journey to Upper Dolpo, that too, to attend the Shey Festival, held once every 12 years.
I have not come close to doing enough, but there is something about this mystical land that keeps calling me back🤍🍃
Growing up, I requested mom for my highlighters and MUN files to be light blue in color, I want them in the ‘UN color’ I used to say.
Been a month since attending UN CSW representing @womenleadnepal , luckily during a year when the commission focused on an agenda close to my heart: improving women’s access to finance for a gender-equitable future 🩵
There was A LOT going on this weekend and I might have been holding my camera for a third of it. But one thing’s for certain: I will always infuse whimsy where I can.
Set design perks me right back up. Screens shut my focus down. The more I can build a playful place to be and live in, the happier I am, and so is whoever works with me. It’s like being a kid again, only now with choices and money to fund those fun, playful projects.
I’m also very thankful when I get to shoot with people who have the same whimsical POV. Many thanks to @studiolumieretx for always having such fun seasonal sets, and to model @simrika_manandhar for making you want to buy whatever she’s holding just by the way she holds it. Oh and those beautiful poppies? Made by @flowerette_co !
