A wedding planned and designed in under 60 days for our clients hosting 350 of their family and friends. A celebration that took place across 2 venues and was the result of a great collaboration with an exceptional team of creative partners. The reception brought contemporary design to a classic London icon, a concept developed with @allforlovelondon from the spark of an idea, whilst ensuring we incorporated details that had special meaning to our client.
Executed in just 2.5 hours from loading in to seating guests.

I had a shoot.
I declined the makeup chair.
Refused to even get my eyebrows tidied up,
or my lips lined.
Just a gentle balm.
Conversations about edits came up.
We spoke about the lighting
not being reflective of my skin tone.
The sunburn I’d just experienced
meant my texture was uneven,
tone darker than usual,
skin flaking.
Photographer mentioned “fixing.”
My heart voted no edit.
I showed my friends the raw images.
One said,
“You should at least get the photographs cleaned up.”
She highlighted the laugh lines,
the hormonal pimple on my chin,
the bags under my eyes.
Immediately
resistance rose.
I advocated for the markers of resilience
imprinted on the corners of my lips
like opened and closed brackets
framing the smile
that has endured seasons
where life should have swallowed me whole.
The mark of a storm
that affirms my ability to bear life
raging, month in, month out.
A reminder of the miracle:
Womb-man.
Traces of the nights
I misplace sleep
giggling in the dark
nights I’ve been given to stories
tucked away in three stone fires,
or nights that my pillows whisper
of secrets leaked by my grief
when they thought they were meeting sleep.
Unmade-up,
unfiltered,
and raw.
If it’s enough to sleep in,
why isn’t it enough to live in?
Why must we filter the life
from under our eyes?
Why conceal the fine lines
that speak of what we’ve survived ?
I AM is enough.
And so is everything
He created.
So embrace the scars,
the marks where you’ve been stretched,
and everything else
the world tries to make us filter and blur.
If soldiers are decorated with medals of valour
for their scars,
then why should our bodies be
photo-robbed after surviving life’s wars?
Remember:
time passing
isn’t your beauty dying.
