Today, we’re announcing the official release of our latest typeface, Beeswacks! A vintage-esque, display sans-serif based on a handful of letters found on an old box of candles made by Columbia Wax Works in New York.
We took those capital letters as guidance in filling out a whole alphabet that retains the worn, hand-painted vibes from the candle box. Beeswacks will be fantastic for logos, posters, signage, branding, etc.
Beeswacks comes in a single weight and includes upper & lowercase letters, numerals, punctuation, diacritics with expanded language support, as well as some alternate character icons and script-y, discretionary ligatures for the words the, of, in, at, and, for.
Available now, individually, or join our Secret Club™ and get ALL of our fonts + other perks ✌️🤓✨
Our new typeface, Turbeau, is released today. Inspired by the end credits of Knight Rider, and warbly, analog synths. Three weights, alternate characters, diacritics, and oblique styles—all under a single license. Never perfect, always a-okay.
Today is a big day! Introducing Wilco Loft Sans, a new typeface we made in collaboration with the @Wilco team. It’s a high contrast sans serif in 4 weights inspired by the giant “GUITAR” sign that hangs in @theloftchicago (Wilco’s Chicago recording studio).
The sign is from an old guitar shop in Chicago that went out of business, its orange glow now soaking in the incredible music recorded there at The Loft.
We also riffed on the lefty guitar icon that’s part of the sign and make alternate character icons for each member of Wilco.
Very special thanks to @spencertweedy for spearheading this project for one my very favorite bands. Such and honor and pleasure working with Spencer, @crystalmyers , and @theloftchicago 🙌

We are proud to bring Dan Cederholm over to Chicago to lead the charge as the Chair for the 2026 STA100 competition. A designer, accidental-entrepreneur, and maker of handmade things, Dan is founder of @simplebits — a type foundry and goods show based in Salem, Massachusetts. Dan is famously the co-founder of Dribbble, and has worked with companies like YouTube, Microsoft, Adobe, Google, MTV, ESPN, Electronic Arts, Blogger, Fast Company, and more—but he is also an author, a musician, a self-described “accidental-entrepreneur”, and a maker of handmade things. We are ecstatic to have him on board this year.
Dan writes books about design and web, records music in his garage, and occasionally hosts a podcast. His love of type turned into designing display fonts, letterpress printing, and learning new things. He’s a U.S. Coast Guard-licensed captain and possibly the world’s worst fisherman.
There are only a 2 days left before the final May 1st submission deadline! If you’ve got an entry saved but not submitted, now is the time to submit!
Also, join us on May 7th for our STA100 celebration as we unveil this year’s winners at The Graham Foundation where you can ask Dan about the time he was handed a TechFellow award by the guy that plays Sheldon on Big Bang Theory.

Today I shared a free pre-release of Beeswacks, our latest typeface, with our Secret Club members. It’s a sans-serif display font inspired by some vintage lettering found on a wax candle company’s packaging.
It’s intentionally imperfect and quirky with an inky, rounded-but-angular character. Looks great in all-caps, but we also added lowercase to match the limited set found on the candle box.
Imagining what a full alphabet becomes from a handful of letters is one of my favorite type design tasks—this was a fun one!
