Huyghend are driving on both sides of the line between meticulous pop production and free improvisation, machine-learning-based voice modelling and tape delay. On their second release, Thomas Meckel and Simon Waskow have assembled six tracks, each a different landscape of open secrets. Like the camera freezes seconds that rush by outside a car window, mics and hard drives organize musical bursts. Heat burns through plastic. Night and city are interlocking fingers.
The tape cases show 75 individual snapshots captured by Saioa Fischer Abaigar on the road in Colombia.
