“From LA you have to catch a few flights, then you’re in a van and a car… it’s like a long tunnel of travel but suddenly you pop up in Corvara and it’s like you woke up in a fairytale.”
So good to catch up again after I rode with Safa in the Dolomites in July just before he shot the film. In half an hour on the stage we put the cycling world to rights and then he went off for a pint in the John Snow for old times’ sake.

The Hotta is back! For what has become its annual four-and-bit laps of Goodwood (10 miles). Yesterday we rode in the heritage cycles category (1989-2001) within the Closed Circuit Championships – superbly organised by @a3crg and the legendary DCB.
On 54x15 fixed I was overgeared for the block southeasterly on Lavant and the pit straight; undergeared (and too tired to spin) for the rest. Sometimes with fixed you’re always in the right gear, but yesterday it was always the wrong gear and I did 24:12, fourth place.
I still loved every pedal stroke and can’t wait for next year.

New test bike day! I went to the @van_rysel shop at Surrey Quays to be fitted by @george_qp for the new RCR Pro as ridden by Decathlon-AG2R La Mondale. I’ll be reviewing it for @rouleurdesire and spending as many miles as possible on it over the next few weeks. After the first 70 yesterday I’m already impressed 👌
