The @1781collective will present their 4th edition of 'Eine Kleine Klubmusik', called 'CELLOBRATION', this upcoming saturday @marmor_bar starting from 6pm.
We will have four wonderful cellists presenting their work and vision of the cello!
Among their sets you will hear live looping, turkish-folk, ambient music and even an electric cello with sound effects.

We’re honoured to welcome Moritz Ebert and Simon Hoffmann to the stage at the TEDxBerlin Salon: Future of Tech Education.
Both Berlin-based cellists, Moritz and Simon meet at the intersection of classical tradition, free improvisation, and experimentation. Though their paths into music differ, they share a curiosity for expanding what the cello — and live performance — can be.
Moritz’s journey led him from Graz and Vienna to Berlin, where he co-founded the improvising trio Softblock and helps rethink how classical music is staged through the 1781 Collective. Simon’s path spans Berlin, Paris, and New York, including seven seasons touring worldwide with the Israel Philharmonic, alongside electronics-driven projects that connect the cello to contemporary sound cultures.
Together, they create immersive musical moments rooted in listening, exploration, and collaboration — reminding us that learning and innovation often begin by stepping beyond familiar structures.

Das Cello steht für Romantik, Sehnsucht, Sinnlichkeit - ein echter „Klassiker“. Was ist aber, wenn es durch einen Verzerrer oder Moog-Filter gejagt wird? Da erklingen auf einmal Science-Fiction-Anmutungen, moderne Klangteppiche, unendliche Möglichkeiten. Zu welchen Handlungen und Geschichten inspiriert das die Schauspielenden der Gorillas? Und zu welchen musikalischen Interaktionen inspiriert wiederum das Bühnengeschehen die Cellisten, die durch Felix Raffel an den Keyboards noch verstärkt werden?

At 1:00, Simon Hoffmann & Vibekat turn the ambient floor into a lush queer dreamscape. With cello, electronics, and a love for experimental soundscapes, they create a drift between warmth and abstraction, a musical conversation shaped by years of friendship and collaboration. 🎻💜
Originally from Kyoto & now based in Berlin, kiku is a DJ and florist known for crafting beautifully detailed, organic soundscapes. As part of Berlin’s ambient listening community around Kwia, their sets blur the line between natural and synthetic, weaving deep, trippy, and emotional textures. 🖤🌸
Qzen returns! A longtime TOYS fave and part of the fam, she brings her signature blend of depth, finesse, and bass-heavy-holding, even when chillin' and not-dancing is the tempo. Genre agnostic, her sets are emotionally tuned and moving. 💗🔮
