This June, Naumburg Orchestral Concerts kicks off their 2026 Summer Concert Series with pianist Simone Dinnerstein & Baroklyn on June 9th and The Knights and Tessa Lark featuring Lisa Bielawa’s Violin Concerto No. 2, “Pulse” on June 23rd!
We can’t wait for these evenings of beautiful music surrounded by the stunning scenes of Central Park 🎶☀️
This is a wonderful video about one of my favorite paintings created by my dad, @dinnersteinsimon . You can really see the vibrant colors and the textures so clearly and he describes this imagined flower market so well. I have very vivid memories of him painting it back when we lived in Rome when I was a young child.
Two weeks before recording Hourglass, we performed the program at @kaufmanmusiccenter . It was one of those concerts that stand out in my memory, where it felt like all of us were breathing as one. And to top it all off, @philipglass was in the audience! He was so happy, and it was such a rush to be with him afterwards. What an affirmation before we headed into our recording sessions!
The CDs arrived!!!!!! They look so beautiful!!! Thank you to @graysondantzic for the gorgeous photos, to @naiverecords for the beautiful design, to @bar.oklyn for the inspired playing, to @professorsilas for the masterful production, and most of all to @philipglass for the MUSIC!!! It was a pleasure to welcome @simonedinnerstein to St. Peter’s Community Arts Academy this week. She gave the students and our community a gift that will stay with us for a lifetime. Thank you for being a part of it!

Discover the new single from renowned American pianist @simonedinnerstein and her ensemble @bar.oklyn , from their forthcoming album Hourglass. This is the first movement of Philip Glass’s Tirol Concerto from 2000, which Simone gave the New York premiere of in 2023. In it, she highlights a dialogue between lyricism and austerity, reminiscent of Schubert’s writing.
