Milan Design Week continues to be one of the few places where culture, design and innovation truly meet. This year was insane - so many artists, designers and entrepreneurs really left their mark. A special thank you to @objects.ark and @henryamouriq for gifting me this incredible piece that we’re finally unboxing today: the Triangular Stool, unveiled during Milan Design Week at @deoron . Brushed stainless steel, made in Taiwan, with such a clean and minimal presence. It works as a stool, a side table, or whatever you want it to become. #objectsark #deoron

In 2024, a quiet yet deliberate exploration began to take shape: an inquiry rooted in sensitivity, perception and human connection. Conceived and curated by @simone_lorusso , Kindness now evolves into a new chapter for Milano Design Week 2026 at @deoron x @industrialkonzept event, expanding its research through sound. Born from the collaboration between Simone Lorusso and producer-artist @kangbrulee , this second edition unfolds as an acoustic exploration of kindness: how sound can evoke, translate and embody emotional intensity, making kindness something not only understood, but felt. Grateful to have contributed with “A Quiet Act”, alongside a beautiful constellation of artists. During Milan Design Week 2026 I launched Design Week Files, an informal conversation with designers, architects, curators, and entrepreneurs, giving voice to their projects, their visions, their identity. This episode is dedicated to @playinghouse_co and its guest curator @margheritadosidelfini Playinghouse is an art and design platform that explores the malleable intersection of the functional, the familiar, and the inventive. Co-founded by @angelayxy_ , @claraleverenz , and Sophie Taylor, Playinghouse presents installations both in-person at rotating popup locations and online, spotlighting the work of multihyphenate artists. During MDW2026, the project was presented at Villa Pestarini built in 1938, the only house Franco Albini designed in Milan without the collaboration of other architects, completed before the Second World War - an exhibition venue that is part of @alcova.milano . The opening photos of the villa featured in the video are by @luigi_fiano @ardesiacoco Villa Pestarini — Milan #MilanDesignWeek #DesignWeekFiles #Playinghouse #FrancoAlbini #Alcova

And just like that, another edition of Milan Design Week comes to a close. As always, it has been a space full of energy: new ideas, new voices, new designers making their way onto the European and Italian market. Fresh perspectives, honest opinions, unexpected processes. What struck me most this year? The resilience. Despite geopolitical tensions, despite economic uncertainty, these designers kept showing up, protecting their research, defending their identity, finding strength in their own vision. That, to me, is what design is really about. So I’ll leave you with a question: in a world that keeps shifting beneath our feet, how do you stay true to your own creative voice? I’m truly happy, honored, and a little emotional to have written the cover story for Issue No. 25 of @openhousemagazine , launching today during Milan Design Week. Thinking back to who I was a few years ago, I would have never imagined this, but passion always finds its way, doesn’t it? My passion for architecture and design has led me here, writing about Casa Albero and interviewing architect Raynaldo Perugini. Photographed by @danielcivetta I would like to thank the @openhousemagazine team and @andrew.p.trotter .

Over and over, but never the same. @6am_glass ’s installation at Milan Design Week 2026 turned repetition into a philosophy, and blown glass into proof. Read the full interview written by me in the Editorial section of @industrialkonzept . During Milan Design Week 2026 I’m happy to launch a new format: Design Week Files. An informal conversation with designers, architects, curators, and entrepreneurs; giving voice to their projects, their visions, their identity. The first episode is with @abeloroh and @fabio.col , the founders behind @deoron . DEORON is an independent curatorial project founded in 2021 as an online platform at the intersection of design, research, and lifestyle culture. After the success of its first physical edition at MDW 2025, 46 designers, over 5,000 visitors, it returns in 2026 with an even more radical edition: 800sqm inside a former ball bearings factory on Via Padova 11 (Loreto), never before used as an exhibition space, bringing together 50+ international designers and studios, a sculptural sound system, and a curatorial vision that draws no boundaries between the emerging, the established, the industrial, and the craft. Media partner of the 2026 edition: @industrialkonzept . Also, a super thanks to @robbbert____ Via Padova 11, Loreto (M1/M2) — Milan #MilanDesignWeek #MDW2026 #DesignWeekFiles #DEORON #designcuratorial

I had the honor of writing the closing letter for the new print issue of @arxipelag_ , centered around the theme of “fun.” In it, I chose to explore a more intimate and poetic reflection, especially in light of the geopolitical tensions we are living today. Volume 03. Cover 3: artist @sal.salandra.thread.paintings - 83yo, New York - still pushing. Many thanks to @enrico__caputo

In a time when music is often consumed as an endless background stream, @neuf_voix , the artistic identity of composer and sound artist Elvio Seta, moves in the opposite direction. His work places sound back at the center of experience. Not as ornament, not as atmosphere, but as a space to inhabit; something that shapes how we move, breathe, and perceive the environments around us. From building his own portable Acusmonium to creating immersive performances where sound sculpts architecture and listeners become part of the sonic ecosystem, Neuf Voix explores a simple but radical question: what if sound doesn’t just fill space, but actually creates it? Read the full interview by me with @neuf_voix in the Editorial section of @industrialkonzept . I want to wrap the 2025 with an article for @industrialkonzept . Through 2025, the year was read month by month through design. Each month, one designer, studio, or platform served as a lens to observe broader cultural, social, and political shifts. Rather than forming a ranking or trend forecast, this approach functioned as an exercise in attention: twelve practices, twelve positions, twelve interpretations of the present. Thanks to @philprocter @studio.douzedegres @marquelrw @amcaoval @devonojas @d__partment @movimentogallery @studioformbart @sofia_karnukaeva @tomducarouge @obscure__objects @calip.er Dear World, the year behind us was structurally complex. Crises accumulated rather than followed one another—geopolitical instability, environmental collapse, economic precarity, and cultural fragmentation acting at the same time. Uncertainty became the baseline, not the exception. Within this imbalance, a shift occurred. As systems showed their limits, designers, artists, galleries, and brands rejected overproduction and acceleration. They slowed down, questioned growth, and rethought processes. Value was recalibrated: less novelty, more meaning; less speed, more duration; less accumulation, more relevance. The real question is no longer what we will produce next but what we’re ready to change and what finally we are ready to let go of. With love, Simone

@stoffnagel and the Reinvention of an Iconic Artefact — Words & visuals by me for @industrialkonzept Artefacts are objects born not from nature, but from intention. They emerge to answer a need, enable a gesture, or give physical form to an aesthetic vision. As such, every artefact carries a cultural trace: its materials and shapes embody techniques, symbols, and social practices specific to the time and context in which it was conceived. Among the most enduring of these objects is the candlestick. Designed to hold a flame—once a fundamental necessity of everyday life—it has accompanied human history through constant shifts in function and meaning. Over time, it has moved from practical tool to ritual object, from marker of status to decorative element, eventually becoming a subtle but expressive component of the contemporary interior. When candlelight was essential to extend life beyond sunset, the candlestick acted as its silent infrastructure. It provided stability, safety, and mobility, shaping how light was used and experienced in domestic and communal spaces. With the advent of electricity, this functional role faded. Yet the object did not disappear. Instead, it underwent a transformation: stripped of its technical necessity, the candlestick acquired a new symbolic presence, evolving into an artefact defined less by utility and more by meaning, memory, and identity. In June 2024, to celebrate my 30th birthday, I launched a personal curatorial project titled “In My Thirties, I Questioned the Essence of Kindness.” The project centered around a panel discussion where I collaborated with various artists to explore and dissect the deeper meaning of the word “kindness.” I’m excited to announce that in 2025, in collaboration with @kangbrulee , I’ll be launching the second edition of the project exploring the theme of kindness through an acoustic reinterpretation featuring a diverse lineup of musical artists.
