The journey from the past to the future is not walked alone; it is painted with the spirit of resilience and the radical belief of a mother who simply handed me the tools to create. I am thrilled to announce the next chapter of this journey at the @afaawards African Fashion and Arts Awards in Abuja, Nigeria 🇳🇬 This December, I will be immersing myself in the continental discourse : •Exhibiting my latest works, which embody the complexity, hope, and innovation of our narrative. •Speaking on the power of “Art and Art Business as Africa’s Soft Power,” championing the core belief that African art is the continent’s truest voice and a tool of narrative sovereignty that bypasses media bias. •Facilitating a Children’s Art Workshop, ensuring the next generation of creatives inherit the foundation for self-determination. •Humbled to be nominated for the prestigious Curator Award. A special, soul-deep thank you to my friend, @dirty_native_chief_ , for the boundless generosity of his studio sanctuary and the hours of conversation that poured into my soul. Our dialogues were a wellspring of inspiration, leaving me creatively full, and shaping the very spirit of the work I carry to Abuja. Thank you for igniting new hues in my vision. 💛 This is only the beginning. Over the next decade, African art will evolve into the primary global aesthetic driver, setting trends, not following them. 🎥: @mowalosi Camagu. #AFAA2025 #Abuja

To receive this African Curator Award is an honour that speaks not just to my efforts, but to the collective heartbeat of our continent’s storytellers. My deep gratitude goes to @afaawards for seeing the strategic value in our narratives, & for shining a bright light on the economic and spiritual power of the African creative economy. Thank you to my family oMamputa - oMaduna namaGcina for the warmest love, support, divine protection and guidance. To every African creative : Your gift is not a luxury; it is the currency of our future. We are not just making beautiful things; we are building generational wealth and defining our own identity without eternal approval. Our power is self-derived, and our value is non-negotiable. Let us continue to commit, not just to creating, but to owning the infrastructure that celebrates us. Our rising tide must lift our own ships. To everyone who cast a vote, who believes in my vision, and who champions the work of African Artists: Thank You. This award belongs to the community we are passionately building together 🤍 Camagu 🎥 : @captainrenee17 👗 : @michaelludwigstudio Stylist : @kwenasays 🐠 : @wanidaboutique x @kingonhorsesbrand

As an artist and curator, I’ve always believed that what we wear is more than just a look, it is a living piece of our heritage and a site of cultural authority. Our history isn’t stuck in the past; it is a metabolic process that moves with us, even into the most advanced digital spaces! I used Google Gemini to generate my Gala look, and let’s just say, the results are absolutely groundbreaking! This prompt literally understood the assignment, blending the high-fidelity textures of South African art history with all that global red-carpet energy.Gemini really brings your creativity to life in a way that feels so authentic and hyper-realistic. It’s about more than just fashion; it’s about owning our stories in the digital age. Now it’s your turn to have some fun! Copy my prompt below and curate your own vision using this link : https://goo.gle/4unpeKe “Place the attached image of a person on The Gala red carpet, styled in a high-fashion couture look that aligns with the “Creative Art” theme and draws inspiration from South African art on fashion’s biggest night.Emphasize the centrality of the dressed body across African art history, from prehistory to the present, and reflect this concept in the design and styling.Preserve their exact face and identity. The final image should feel elegant, authentic, and editorial, rendered in 4k, hyper-realistic details. Colour and tone: Bright, vibrant African colour tones, with meticulous colour coordination from head to toe.DSLR or mirrorless cameras with flashes for high-quality, real-time photo coverage.” #highfashion #galaoutfit #googlegemini #geminigala

Returned to the stillness of Cpt with a heart full of Jozis gold and grit. To the team at Creator Week Africa - thank you for curating such a sterling week of connection. In a world of noise, you provided a platform for informative discussions that actually move the needle for the visionaries of our continent. This is for the one who has forgotten how to breathe within their own ambition. For twenty years, my “play” was a metric of performance. As a professional athlete, every movement had a score; every game was a calculation of output. I lived in the high stakes discipline of the loop, being seen by thousands but rarely known. Today I stand as a multidisciplinary artist and the founder of The Space Between Aum, and I have reclaimed Play as my Sovereign Right. Play is not a break from your work. It is the Ritual that informs the Work. If your practice is only producing product but never changing your frequency, you aren’t creating, you are simply laboring. I am willing to let go until I am newborn. To let “Pure Play” change me is to become the serpent 🐍 shedding the old skins of the high performing athlete to become the Multidisciplinary Sovereign I am now. I found that when I let go of the “Mogul,” the Empress took over. I no longer look for “Safe” or “Easy.” I look for the moment my internal voice changes pitch. If the work doesn’t make you feel vulnerable and raw, it isn’t Art; it’s just a commodity. Stop trying to “fit” into an industry and start architecting the one you deserve to inhabit. When you stop performing, your essence begins to speak for you. If you treat your Art like a transaction, the world will treat you like a vendor. I am not a quick-turnaround commodity. Real legacy is not a sprint toward a return, but a deep-sea dive into an unfolding Empire. Legacy cannot be rushed, and the depth of the return will always be determined by the depth of your endurance. I am the Destination, and the gates only open for those who respect the time it takes to build a Throne. May you find the courage to stop “managing” your life and start honoring the terrain of your soul. Camagu ⚖️✨🐆 #CR8TORWEEKAFRICA #CR8TORCON

Art, much like the moon, has its phases. Sometimes we create in the dark, and sometimes we are pulled into the light for the world to see 🌊🌕 Deeply grateful to @manifestoafrica for holding space for me to talk about the heartbeat of Simhle in Nigeria and yes, that’s my art on the cover! Nigerian fam, this one is for you. Let’s go! 🤍🇳🇬🚀✨ 📝: I am in total alignment with my highest calling. I am grounded in my roots and limitless in my reach. I release what no longer serves my craft and pull in the abundance the universe has been holding for me. My art is a bridge, and my light! Oooh sana it’s undeniable! As the moon reaches its fullness, so does my vision. I am open to being seen. I am worthy of this platform, and I trust the timing of my evolution. But as our vision expands, so must our horizon 🌍 If my art is a bridge, let it be one that crosses every border on this continent without friction. Like the moon that shines on Abuja and Cape Town with the same intensity, I dream of an Africa where our movement is as fluid as our creativity - where we are no longer ‘strangers to one another,’ but collaborators under one sky. If the moon doesn’t need a visa to cross Africa, why should our dreams?

The Ton expects a symphony, but I’ve always preferred the thrill of beautiful discord. While they chase the sun, I am the eclipse they won’t be able to look away from - the character everyone whispers about, yet no one is brave enough to approach🌘💜 In this incredible architectural silhouette by @michaelludwigstudio , I didn’t come to blend into the wallpaper; I came to redesign the room. A director would tell you that every great story needs a catalyst, a force of nature that refuses to play by the rules or wait for a dance card to be filled. I am that shift in the atmosphere. The mask isn’t for my protection 🙄 it’s for yours 🤭. They say the brightest flames burn out, but I’d much rather be the one holding the match🎭🔥 Let the wallflowers watch. The scene doesn’t truly start until the villain arrives💋 Slide 1-4 📸: @pat3.jpeg Slide 5-10 📸: @birdiehoods @netflixsa #BridgertonNetflix @bridgertonnetflix

Standing among the Fulani cattle, I am reminded that Obalende has always been a site of coexistence between the pastoral and the urban. These herds are the living history of the Sahel, moving through the concrete of Lagos just as they have for centuries - steady, regal, and indifferent to the city’s frantic pace. This @michaelludwigstudio dress, from the Playful People ‘26 collection (styled by @kwenasays ), is a love letter to the foundational women of South Africa - those who were “serious yet playful, emotional, and caring.” Drawing inspiration from the founder’s upbringing, this collection celebrates a distinctly South African approach to modern dressing - considered, curated, and deeply rooted. As the fringe caught the dusty Lagos haze, it felt like a dialogue between two worlds: the nostalgic flora and fauna of our South African upbringing and the historic cattle trails of Nigeria. It is a garment of memory, finding a kindred spirit in the steady, timeless presence of these herds in the middle of the urban sprawl. 🇿🇦🇳🇬 My own journey is one of reinvention and finding “home” in places of transit. This shoot wasn’t just about creative direction; it was a way to ground my heritage art narratives in the soil of a neighborhood that refused to be forgotten. We captured this amidst the record-breaking heat, honoring the figures - both human and animal - who play foundational roles in the survival of this city. 📸 : @kayode.adeojo
