Details from „The Drip – Voices on Water, Labor and Sustainability in the Fashion Industry“, a publication I had the pleasure to design for @dripbydripngo . “The Drip” brings together a collection of texts by various authors exploring the themes of water and sustainability within the fashion industry. The design focuses on the people behind the industry, highlighting both the authors and selected quotes from industry workers. Another aspect of the design is the use of annotations, developed as clearly distinguishable formats to separate source references from explanatory notes, making industry-specific terms accessible to a broader audience. The theme of water is visually represented by simple droplet shapes, whilst colour gradients and wavy lines evoke both fluidity and textile structures. Bold, underlined elements throughout the layout emphasise the direct and purposeful voice of an NGO committed to driving change. #typography #graphicdesign #sustainability

Vielen Dank an alle Beitragenden! Wir freuen uns auf die kommenden Diskussionen. Kauft das Buch bei unserem Verlag adocs. (Link in der Bio) Oder geht zur lokalen Buchhandlung eures Vertrauens. Take a more detailed look at the Käthe Kollwitz Prize catalogue for Maria Eichhorn. To mark the 2021 Käthe Kollwitz Prize ceremony, Maria Eichhorn devoted herself to the multifaceted history and preservation of Ingeborg Hunzinger’s memorial Block of Women (1995), located on Rosenstraße in central Berlin. The publication consists of five main parts: An essay by Yilmaz Dziewior, accompanied by images of Maria Eichhorn’s works; Maria Eichhorn’s photo series of the Block of Women; the documentation of the conservation work of the monument; a text by Anke Hervol on the monument’s historical background with photographs of its original realisation and presentation in the 1990s; and an excerpt from the novel Welten auseinander (Worlds Apart) by Julia Franck, presented as reproductions of the book. The design clearly distinguishes the documentary section from the rest of the book by assigning it its own image grid, thus creating varied and lively layouts. The diverse image material in the essay sections is unified by simpler and more straightforward layouts. Very grateful for this collaboration with Maria Eichhorn, Akademie der Künste and Rimini Berlin. Once again I had the pleasure to design the catalogue for the Käthe Kollwitz Prize, an annual prize awarded by the Akademie der Künste. This time the catalogue is part of the awardee Maria Eichhorn’s project „Conservation and Restoration Work on the Block of Women Sculpture Group by Ingeborg Hunzinger (2021–)“. „To mark the 2021 Käthe Kollwitz Prize ceremony, Maria Eichhorn devoted herself to the multifaceted history of Ingeborg Hunzinger’s memorial Block of Women (1995), located on Rosenstraße in central Berlin. The monument commemorates the successful protest mounted by a group of German women and their families in Berlin in February–March 1943 against the deportation of their Jewish relatives. The artist initiated research into the background of the monument’s creation and a study into preserving the sculpture group, beginning in 2021 and 2022 with an assessment of its condition, followed by ongoing restoration work that will continue through several more stages. Maria Eichhorn’s artistic project includes future conservation and maintenance, overseen by the Akademie der Künste until 2027 and, from 2028, by the owner of the sculpture, the city of Berlin, and the owner of the property, the local housing association in the Berlin-Mitte district. The accompanying publication contains documentation of Maria Eichhorn’s multi-part work on Block of Women by Ingeborg Hunzinger, an essay by Yilmaz Dziewior introducing Maria Eichhorn’s works, a photo series by Maria Eichhorn, a text by Anke Hervol on the historical background and realisation of the sculpture, Aurelia Badde’s documentation of the conservation work undertaken, and excerpts from the novel Welten auseinander (Worlds Apart) by Julia Franck.“ #mariaeichhorn Essay by @yilmaz.dziewior For @akademiederkuenste

At the beginning of this year, I had the beautiful task of working with Juliane on her Instagram channel @makeitttwork . Juliane is a DEI and systemic org development expert, trainer, mediator and scrum master who works for inclusive change, striving for workplaces where we can be ourselves. On her channel, she reflects on work and belonging, informes about tools for inclusive change, and discusses the obstacles to achieving it. Together, we developed an identity and templates with a set of colour combinations that reflect her diverse and open approach, while remaining focused and informative.
