Tons of gratitude to all of the artists, both for being involved and for the illuminating conversations, which ran in totally unpredictable directions and gave me the motivation to write a seven page, semi-existential treatise about the medium of painting. Get a copy just inside the door of the bookshop.

The photos that make up the show are all new, but they also mark a new chapter of a larger saga within their practice: the way architecture is styled to inspire desire and communicate power.
Marina Pinsky’s show is up for another two weeks. Write me if you want to meet up for a tour and a coffee. The collages feature stuff culled from Marina’s research in the archives of Basel’s pharmaceutical companies, the Olivetti archives outside of Turin, test prints from her work that used early American colonial flags (which were also used as a logo by the early Armory Shows in the 1910s), and much more. Come rifle through, they are incredible
